Suggestion to Expand Upon the Platform

I have a suggestion. A good portion of the country live in areas where the internet of not the best. While keeping with the cloud platform, if Stadia were to come in optional physical, similar to the dev kits, said market could then be tapped.

I love playing on the cloud bud if I were to take a trip, I would definitely prefer I be able to take my games with me.

Definitely no. No way Google will make Stadia a physical console...

They may not but who knows. Anything that strengthens the brand is good for everyone.

I personally think this would be a step backwards. Yes a some do not have a strong ISP network in their area however this is where 5g comes in. Network providers are rolling it out quicker than ever. Most of the time the speed I pull on my phone on 5g is quicker than my broadband.

It's only a matter of time until it reaches a bigger audience

You are right, network will be there eventually. Based on the current rate of expansion, it will take another 15-20 years for the infrastructure to allow for a significant portion of Americans to have anything higher than a low level DSL or satellite.

My thoughts are geared toward the immediate. With PS5 and Series X on the horizon, some of the advantages of Stadia will be less so. I enjoy this platform and desire it to exist for years to come. Broadening the user base will assist in this. Thank you for your input though, it’s appreciated.

This would be just a band-aid for the lack of internet in some areas.

I strongly believe that the improvement of compression algorithms will make Stadia capable of delivering same performance at even lower network conditions.

It's just a matter of time.

I was thinking more along the lines when you have no internet access, or you live somewhere where the only option is satellite, which has a hard cap on usage. I live in Dallas so it’s not an issue. I just believe heavily in the platform and want others less fortunate than I to see it as a gaming contender.

I can't see this happening, I can already use Stadia on 4g perfectly fine.

This has already improved considerably over the last few months and can only see the compression getting better and better

Better compression algorithms are beneficial, I agree there. My thoughts are on those who don’t even get 4g. The more users Stadia has, the stronger it will be.

There is added appeal to possessing the game and knowing that it’s there, on your device. The cloud should be the focus but it isn’ta bad thing to diversify.

Thank you for your input on such.

Well the whole "play on internet" is a bit of problem. Especially in countries where networks are not that great. So in my honest opinion: right now, Stadia can not grow as big as Playstation simply because the "network world" is not ready for it. I can not even watch Netflix in Turkey for instance because of the bad network (im from NL though and here it is superb).

Here we have the T-Mobile Unlimited 5G subscriptions. They are great for Stadia! Here in NL (Europe maybe?) a datacap is prohibited. It's all fair use, but it is like a lot of TB before that kicks in and even then you first get a warning, prior to lower speeds.

Roses are red, Gaming is fun. You are carrying too much, to be able to run!

Internationally speaking, there are houses untapped markets due to underdevelopment. Here in America, 40% of households live where only DSL or satellite are an option. That’s 132,602,246.4 people, give it take. It would strengthen, not hurt the platform as a whole. I’m glad another sees it.

It’s like you don’t realize what the entire point of Stadia is lol.  You want us to get physical little game cartridges shipped to us for each Stadia game we buy?

I don’t think Stadia is for you.

Interesting assumption, only I never mentioned physical games, merely hardware. I do know what Stadia is and believe in its potential.

My suggestion is something that serves the potential to add to its user base. Google needs a strong position as the competition is coming.

Amazon is launching their service and this would allow Google to reach an estimated 100,000,000 individuals unable to properly utilize a streaming, gaming platform, than Amazon.

Thank you for your perspective, as dismissive and combative as it may be.

You want Google to sell a box for users who live in an area where their internet is not good enough to use Stadia. Because Amazon is launching a cloud streaming service that will get them as customers before Google.

Do you understand where this is flawed?

You are stuck in the old way. You still think you have to have a physical device to see and hold to validate Stadia. Lets move forward and progress and stop holding onto these thoughts.

You only need 10Mbps and a stable network. The 10Mbps is not the issue to play Stadia. It is the stable network. Most people don't have a clue how to evaluate if they have a stable network. Using Stadia will show the instability in a network and with a little effort you can fix the issues and have a much better network for all internet services not just Stadia.
