Hi
For a while I've noticed stadia is rather stuttery on CCU. I upgraded today from a 45Mbps connection to a 300Mbps connection. The stutter remains. To cut a long story short, it only happens when using the New Nest Wifi router is the primary point. If I use my old google wifi, no issues, I can stream 2 instances of stadia and 4k flawlessly. If I use my ISP supplied router, also fine. As soon as I use Google Nest Router as my primary point, stadia become unplayable.
My CCUs are wired so I just don't understand what's going on.
I don't seem to have any issues with any other service or downloads. I've tried gaming preferred on and off, there is no difference. I also use a switch, which some say helped, but hasn't worked for me.
I don't seem to be the only one either? https://support.google.com/googlenest/thread/66218952?hl=en&msgid=66218952
Has Google or Stadia acknowledged there is an issue?
I spoke to nest wifi support who were nice but seemed to think it was a stadia issue, and transferred me to stadia support, who I have to say were dire and after 45 min, I'm not even sure they understood my issue or even seemed to want to understand and just kept talking about the controller being on wifi and that was causing all my problems because it's a mesh network...
Hello @GamingPreferred
Thanks – I've escalated it in that forum. Hopefully the Nest support team can dig into this a bit more closely. It may take a few days for them to get to it, though.
Hello @GamingPreferred
The only issue I know of is with connecting a CCU directly to the Nest WiFi Router's LAN port. Since you've tried putting a switch in between and are still seeing issues, I don't really have any better suggestions. Could you post in the Nest support community (https://support.google.com/googlenest/community?hl=en) and then drop a link to that post in here? I can try to get it escalated from there in hopes someone from Google can look at it more closely.
Hi John
Here you go! https://support.google.com/googlenest/thread/82318767?hl=en I expanded the configurations I've tried too.
I've given up on having the Nest Wifi as my primary point, everything seems to be working fine with the original google wifi as the primary point. I even get better speeds when I test my connection!
I'm quite disappointed in the newer Nest Wifi, it does have better wifi speeds but the wired stuff seems to be a downgrade.
Thanks for your help.
