I have been looking around about 5.1 sound on Stadia and there are several posts requesting this feature as other consoles already have: letting the user chose the output audio, as each of us has different set ups at home and right now with the limitation some of us are having compatibility issues with nowadays systems.
¿Can you share with us if this is something we will be seeing in the future? So far playing on TV is almost impossible as DolbyDigital is the general standard for TVs.
PS: I know some systems with HDMI eARC allow it, but not if you are limited to Dolby by core. Also it would support ARC that is more extended around. At the end is more people getting the full Stadia PRO experience. Right now only enjoying 4k, neither 5.1 nor HDR.
Supporting Dolby Digital would certainly be nice. However, it would bring in additional licensing costs. Instead of connecting the CCU directly to the TV, connect it to the audio device (which should have an HDMI out that can feed the TV). If needed, an HDMI switch in front of that can make more inputs available.
That would be great, however 4K input is set to the TV input only. I will try tho. thanks!
