How do I go about getting a refund and updating a payment method for a stadia refund? I have received an update payment method - but when I log in I get this error message.
im getting fed up of going in circles - i didn’t use a gmail address it was yahoo. I have contacted Google support who say to contact stadia - I have FB messaged but no reply
how annoying
Hey @Lor,
From your picture it looks like you're in the right spot. Pay.google.com is the right way to change your payment method (through the notification dot in the top right corner when a refund failed) or through the email-link you receive (but that one guides you to pay.google.com anyway).
There's currently no other way to change the payment method for the Stadia refunds. So if you haven't received an email about your failed refunds (and no notification dot) then you need to wait a bit longer. If the refund is successful, contact the issuer of your payment method and check with them if they have received it.
Otherwise yes you could contact the Stadia team, but they're super busy atm and they also can't magically make refunds appear, so best procedure currently is anyway to wait for the email or check the notifications on pay.google.com.
Do I see it right from your picture also that you don't have a Google account and that's why you can't change your alternate payment method?
Hi,
I didn’t use a google account to make the purchase I used a yahoo account as a guest order as I didn’t have a gmail account at the time. So that is why I cant update my payment method or link my gmail account
I am having the same issue. I placed a guest order as this was a gift and I did not use a google email address. Been on the phone 3 times with Google this morning and then they refer me to chat in which nobody replies. After I get my refund I will NEVER purchase google products again. There customer support is trash and doe not help
I am having the same issue. I made a guest order not using a google account and I am receiving emails that I need to update my payment info as the refund is going to a card I dont have anymore. Google has not helped and I have called 3 times
Hey @Lor and @frustrated2323,
Is the option I suggested in this thread maybe an option for you?
If the support is not able to help at the moment, it's at least worth a try in your case if you're up to it.
Do you mean you followed the link in the email after creating the new account and then you get the error message or did you successfully provide an alternate payment method via the email link and then the error popped up?
Since the error also indicates to get in touch with the Google support, maybe there's something wrong on the payment profile itself, but you can also try out another browser or device again to see if the error comes up everywhere.
Support doesn't seem to care at all that there are screw up and refuse to take any kind of responsibility. I've been dealing with this for over a month with no help.
