Anyone else tired of our "next gen" system operating at medium settings at 30 fps... get it together google. Graphics matter ffs. I bought Valhalla last night and I'm refunding it. Not another goddam penny goes into googles hands from me until they deliver what was promised when stadia started. If I wanted games to run like an Xbox one x, I would have just kept using the console I have.
Mobile gaming = who cares
Playing on any screen = who cares
State share = who cares
Family plan = who cares if the family can't play together!!!!!!
GRAPHICS AND PERFORMANCE are KING.
If gen2 is a thing, they have been typically close mouthed about it.. another problem with Google.
I'm buying a series x because I would actually like to see some high end gaming for a change. Cloud gaming seems to be a fail which is so very disappointing.
Don't worry, we won't miss you... Goodbye
I don't have quite as pessimistic of a view as Deathwysh, but I would like to hear updates on hardware. the performance profile for stadia was a pleasant surprise last year, but going into 2021 on medium settings and 30fps locked... I am going to probably start losing my optimism. I am not going to be one of the people who claim we need 4k60 for every game, but it does feel like a lot of recent titles have taken the 1080p upscaled 30fps route and it is a little disappointing.
I love stadia and truly believe it is the future, but the case is going to get harder and harder as the next-gen consoles start easily outperforming it.
my take, I would be happy with 1080p and 60fps, or even 30fps, but I would like to see settings turned up a little higher.
It's a little bit of a bummer that you said, "who cares" to a lot of things that make Cloud Gaming great. The mobility and accessibility being crucial factors. If you buy a Series X and head to a friends house, can you play it there on your friends PC? If you have a 2 hour bus ride can you play your Series X games at high FPS and high quality on your phone...?
It's totally natural to want a platform to provide for your wants, but don't forget there are a lot of people out there who don't necessarily care about 60 FPS, because they haven't been able to game at all for years as they couldn't afford a PC that could run a game like AC Odyssey or Doom Eternal at any settings...but now they can.
Also, whoever thinks Family Plan is a joke when you can only share your games but can't play them at the same time....yeah....me saving my friends hundreds of $$$ by not having to re-buy what I already own....super big joke....
As @bluebobz notes, none of us necessarily shares the same wants or needs. Personally, I'm happy with everything Stadia has to offer and I have few complaints. I don't really care about FPS or high-performance graphics. To me, gameplay is all-important. But your mileage may vary. If you don't want to play Stadia, go play something you do want to play. Win win.
I also read this morning about the "next gen" consoles coming out and how with manufacturing it's always a long game, success with these systems takes years...we're at less than an official year old on Stadia and they're given none such leeway as the "heavyweights" of gaming are. I say patience...
60fps is always a better experience, but other features, are equally important as well. Between on a similarly speced PC, these games are capable of 60fps 1080p. This is likely due to ubisoft still understanding and porting using vulkan
Is it possible down the line for these games to be updated to 60fps? I don't know much in this space.
I'm enjoying all the games regardless of frame rate. I haven't had any issues or got so upset that I was swearing off the service and ready to drop 500+ on a console that will be replaced in 5 years due to frame rate.
If the new chromecast that has google tv built in can do it, that'll be here first half next year for stadia.
It's not really a matter of opinion that something is underpowered with Stadia games in general, and the stated hardware for Stadia will need improvement as it moves forward.
That said, even accepting that there's some bottle neck with the hardware, there has got to be some involvement from the developers. The Anvil engine in particular appears to run comparatively badly on Stadia, while Snowdrop, IDTech and Unreal engines seem to run far better.
Asking for Google to give more in-depth information about the platform is like asking for World Peace: It ain't never gonna happen.
As I wrote in a lot of comments: Google is being too corporate for this "start-up". If a true start up would launch with as much "promised features that never came" and with such a small library and EVENTUALLY would only give weekly updates about new games and new deals, it would be dead within a year. But this is Google. It has a massive income, but must invest it wisely. Stadia is just a minor investment, compared to all their business programs. And therefore, the team just does not have enough budget I think.
There are really so, so, so many good ideas (and complaints) in this forums and although Grace and Chris say they read "everything" they don't seem to have any reason at all to show us a little bit of love to say "yea we know you want steering wheel support and yes, we do have Tandem Mode now. Steering wheels are not yet supported but we will forward this to the dev-team." It's as easy as that. But the only way Google (employees) will respond is in threads they make themselves. (Here, social media, everywhere).
Each to their own... Right now Stadia is on a par with current top-end Gen (Xbox ONe X /PS4Pro) - and I agree some ports don't seem as optimized as others - so we know it's capable of it.
But consider this - NOT everyone coming to Stadia is a hardcore dedicated console/gaming pc player. That is why they have chosen Stadia. It is affordable, easy access, and delivers an amazing experience. If you've never played a game in 4K at 30 fps - then that looks and feels amazing. If you are used to running 4K 120fps on your ultra gaming rig - perhaps less so. The "next billion gamers" are not gamers now because the entry to gaming has been too high for them - until Stadia.
So yes, I'm sure as games are developed in parallel for Stadia going forward we will see more and more developers pushing the platform - but for the casual gamer... It looks awesome.
Plus let's be honest. As game developers become more and more familiar with Vulcan and start to have "Veteran's" of it on their Dev teams, we will probably see the quality being ported over with the same specs. Stadia has more power than PS5 and just under XSX, so it's not a concern of the hardware Stadia has, just the developers. So once the experience comes through and trust me, once Ubisoft ports over all of their U-Play+ catalogue, they will have the experience, then we will start to see them optimizing the games more and more to hit the desired FPS of all gamers (except those that want 240 FPS). ![]()
You say it has more power than the PS5 but devs did port over the games to Stadia and had full control over what graphics settings to apply and frame rates to apply.
Some of them already said that they couldn't achieve the frame rates with the highest presets.
I'll believe it's as powerful as the PS5 when I actually see it in game and not as a theoretical marketing term. So far the comparisons even when compared to last gen aren't really favourable to Stadia.
Nah , the next billion games will Go to PC, xbox or PS. Yes not every one is interested in good Performance, but far the Most. Best indiz: Playernumbers on stadia.
And that u can play mobile is a weak point for stadia. Not every one has endless datavolume. Look at genshin impact, need very less requierments, thats a point.
But one too say, for me Vallhalla is a good Port and i like it to play on stadia. 4k 30 FPS and Medium/high settings.
Im disapointed, that there is still no uplay +.
And Informationspolitik from stadia is still the worst on gamingmarket
There is no growth in the gaming market for consoles and PC (the same market segment buys the updated consoles and upgrade PC- but there is little to no expansion for these markets. . These markets stay relatively the same. The casual gamer in global markets where consoles and PC are not the norm is where the growth is, that is why Amazon, Google and Microsoft (Xbox) are targeting that area with cloud gaming.
They target cloudgaming because it is cheaper, than put out Million of consoles with no Benefit.
And if stadia want to have casuals, they would push free to play games to stadia.
But they dont know what thes want.
