Stadia on Safari MAC

Jump to Best Response

Why is not possible to use Stadia with Safari on MAC? It's possible in Safari on an iPad and iPhone, this limitation is absurd

Hi @Tralala5,

I think it has to do with the restrictions of iOS with different browsers.

There are already some topics about this and I think the main reason is it is perfectly possible to install Chrome on Mac OS.

But please share your thoughts for adding Safari support on Mac OS with the Feedback option within Stadia. :smiling_face_with_smiling_eyes:

The issue is not solved.

I use Chrome for Stadia only, which is inconvenient.

I think it is curious Safari on Mac is a browser working with literally everything I know, except Stadia.

I know Google wants us to use Chrome but that's not how you're helping the service to grow... Actually Google's talk was about being accessible to everyone anywhere on any device... so the idea would be to let us use any browser as well.

For better or worse Google has added features specifically to Chrome that Stadia requires, and it just won't work on anything but a Chromium based browser.  There's nothing to be done to work around this and since Chromium runs on just about everything I can't see them making it a high priority to add fallback support for other browsers.

And I forgot to say : Safari on mac lets you play with Xcloud so there's no technical excuse here.

Hi everyone,
This is an older post so we're going to go ahead and lock it now. If anyone still needs help after trying the suggestions here, I'd recommend creating a new post so that you can get better visibility in our community.

Thank you,
