Hi.
im sorry if this has already been asked/solved but I couldn’t find a thread with a good answer.
I’ve been through troubleshooting with Stadia but they can’t help.
Basically I can’t play Stadia on my phone over mobile data despite having a very good connection. I have the safari web app installed but when I try to launch a game I either get ‘reopen to play’ or ‘Failed to start RTC Client.’ - this happens through chrome browser as well.
I can play fine over WiFi and, strangely, can play on my MacBook via mobile data when tethered to my phone’s personal hotspot; I just can’t play on the phone itself.
I’ve done a factory reset to no avail; I’m beginning to think it could be something to do with my network provider (Three UK) and I’m wondering if anyone else has run into the same issue?
thanks in advance.
Tom
Hello @gutterXshark,
Thanks for stopping by our community and asking a great question! That is a very interesting issue and I can imagine how frustrating it would be. Let's see what we can do though, yeah?
Normally our users get the "Fail to start RTC Client" issue when they have certain extensions that inhibit the Stadia experience. Now, I know that typical desktop extensions are not available on iOS devices, but I wanted to bring that up in case it jogged an idea for you.
Okay, let us know how all of that goes. We look forward to hearing back from you.
Best,
James
