Hey, I have contacted customer service before and they were very thorough in checking that I'm not making any of the usual mistakes. (bad wifi, vpn, someone else streaming etc.) and by the time we went through all the possible solutions, none of which could have been the cause, the Problem just went away. So I just went on with my life.
I got 200mbit/s and ping around 10ms on PC. On tablet slightly worse but still same ballpark.
One week later, now the same problem: For an hour now I've been trying to play cyberpunk and the game plays smooth for a minute or two, then I get a notification that my connection may not be strong enough and another minute later, I get kicked out. Like clockwork this keeps repeating. I can reconnect within a couple seconds, keep on playing just fine and it'll just happen again and I get kicked out.
Here's the weird part. I tried switching to tablet, thinking maybe my PC has some issue but the same thing happens on my tablet EXCEPT instead of kicking me out of the game a minute after the "your internet may not be strong enough" message it just puts the a pop-up over the game stream, telling me the connection is too weak, please check stadia yada yada. AND I CAN STILL PLAY THE **bleep** GAME IN THE BACKGROUND JUST FINE, only the **bleep** popup telling me my connection is too weak insists on blocking my view.
Why does Stadia insist that my connection is bad while streaming the game perfectly fine in the background? Could I please be the judge of my streaming experience? And on the other spectrum, sometimes (maybe once an hour for a minute) the stream is spazzing out hard with input not working and picture resolution pulsating somewhere between 120p and 240p or something, which I can just wait out but at the same time, why doesn't Stadia cut me off at THESE moments, when the game is actually unplayable for a minute or two?
I'm super frustrated with Stadia's arbitrary (or plain faulty) forced disconnects. Is there an option to force stadia to keep streaming my game no matter what?
Cheers, Paul
same issue. Please fix this stadia!
Hello @PaulSzkibik and @lvp1980,
Do you have the same issues with other games like Destiny 2?
Did you try playing Stadia using a ethernet connection?
There a lot of things that could cause these things, mostly related to the internal network or even ISP issues. ![]()
I have the same issue with all stadia games. it had happened before but it got better and now I haven't been able to play for 6 days. My internet is fast and don't have any issues with any other websites or services....
I made this today to show what happens on my phone...
The only difference between my phone and PC is that the PC just kicks me completely without showing the game still running in the background.
I'm fairly confidente that the issue has to do with google server loads (i.e. peak times, distance to servers, people accessing the servers) because I troubleshot everything locally including ISP and no issues were found.
Only Stadia was being affected therefore I believe it's like a VPN where when you access that particular server you will generally get slower speeds than by using the nearest server to you. I live in Hawaii which is technically not supported by Stadia due to the lack of infostructure.
I play with people from varied places and those near large cities tent to have better connections.
Anyways that is my best guess.
This happens to me too. $#&%ing infuriating when you can see the game playing perfectly in background and the only thing ruining play is a popup from Google.
how can we make the stadia team aware of this?
There is no need to inform the Stadia team, they know all the errors of the platform but will never admit or warn.
For Google, a user who can use its services in the future is more important than those who use its services.
Before they will make you hire more speed, new isp that they are going to change all your wiring than buy a new router or a new phone / pc / laptop / tv before admitting a fault on Google side.
Google policy, the customer is NEVER right.
Google is the perfection 11/10.
Currently there are issues by UBISOFT +
Just hope they fix it at their speed, slowly.
happened to me also. seems to be a bug
Are you having this on a PC or Laptop using WiFi?
Or are you using a ethernet cable?
I noticed some issues with one of my laptops using WiFi.
I fixed this with a tool called WiFi optimizer.
This tool disables the constant WiFi scanning is enabled for other networks though you are connected.
Maybe worth a shot. ![]()
chromecast, with cable
Did anyone solve this? Despite playing since launch, i'm just mow having this issue. I recently switched to nest wifi router, but it worked great for a month.
Having same issue on laptop with wired connection. I get kicked out of game randomly and taken to stadia home screen with option to get back where I was in game if I go back within 5 minutes. Green connection, no message telling me I will get kicked out or bad connection etc. Just pulls me out. Frustrating really cause I get back and im dead in game. Happens on Destiny 2 and Chronos. Really spoils it for me, other than that I really enjoy playing on stadia. Any way to solve this?
In my case I always had a red connection even though it worked perfectly until it ranzomly disconnected. Despite doing all the troubleshootinf stadia support, nest support and my isp had me do, it didnt solve my issue. It went away on its own in a couple weeks, so i think it is most likely a stadia issue.
Hey everyone,
This is an old topic so I'm going to go ahead and lock it. If anyone has any follow up questions or concerns, feel free to make a new topic.
Thank you,
James
