Stadia controller not connecting

Jump to Best Response
I conniver the Stadia controller to my Chrome Cast Ultra, and it works for a few minutes. Then after those few minutes my controller disconnects from my Chrome Cast Ultra. When I plug in headphones to my controller, it also disconnects from my Chrome Cast Ultra. My controller is fully charged and my Chrome cast can still cast other services such as YouTube. I am confused why the controller is connecting for a few minutes and then disconnects.

Hey @Veauve,

sorry to hear that you have issues with a disconnecting controller. I would recommend to first try these steps:

If nothing helps, I would recommend to contact Stadia support as they might have more troubleshooting steps for you or they might even know if this is an issue. It could also be that your controller is defective and needs a replacement, but the support can better help you out with that.

Wish you all the best!

Sounds like the wifi is your problem, as if its connecting / disconnecting, reconnecting disconnecting over and over

Are you using 5Ghz? Some routers try to smart choose 2.4 to 5ghz wireless connection... 5ghz is better, but the range is shorter, you might be in a dead spot or out of range and its disconnecting due to this... To debug, I would go in the router settings and turn off 5ghz radio altogether and go from there... I rujn on 2.4 and having no issues, so wouldnt worry too much about any service lost

Sounds it's having hardware issues.

Try to turn it off, and turn it on while holding the Y button, that should forget all the WiFi settings, then try to connect the WiFi you want to use Stadia in.

If it still disconnects, then it's a 100% hardware and you need to call google to see what they have for you

Nope..same was here! Sounds crazy..but start a game in your app!!! The Game must pop up on tv and your controller is already set up and it works already !! Works for me ! I thought damnnn what a fuc...but when i started the game via app (of course via tv not possible without controller) i noticed that the controller was already installed ! Beside of this..try to Re-install chrome by press and hold !!!! the little little button on chrome till it stop to blink white. Good luck
