On Oct. 6, the Stadia mouse and keyboard matchmaking pool will be closed. Since launch, Stadia has given us the ability to reach a wider audience for new and returning players on an additional platform. As the service evolved, we found that a predominant amount of our players preferred to play with a controller. Due to this, we’ve decided to focus on the Stadia controller matchmaking pool, helping maximize our Battle Royale experience for players and giving them the best experience possible. While the consolidation of both matchmaking pools was explored, we felt that keeping a controller only queue was critical to upholding the competitive integrity of the player experience, as is the case with all our platforms. Hey there Anthony, I recommend taking a look at PUBG's Console Update 8.3 Patch Notes. It states the following:
Maybe we can bombard them on social their social media outlets? Like everyone go and comment about how bad it stinks that they took away mouse and keyboard support for PUBG.
Side note: I tried playing other games...Turing Test, Kona and they were superbly BORING.
this has got to be the stupidest decision ever. Why? why limit how people can interact and play a game. Stadia is about expanding gaming to everyone,. regardless of rig or setup. This is against the mission of the brand Stadia. Fix this.
I a very disappointed. Although, there is an easy solution for this problem. Just cancelled my membership. If we all do that they may realise what a stupid idea this is. I mean, really?
Such a massive disappointment - was loving PUBG on Stadia, but it's no fun at all with a gamepad

We have GOT to get keyboard and mouse back on stadia pubg. It's unplayable on controller. Absolutely horrendous. Please reach out to them via their social media accounts:

Very good idea! I did so right away and they passed this on to the right team.
Let's all do this and we might have an impact! At least they would hear about us people loving Stadia and PUBG, before this awful decision!
After a while without playing I am about to start PUBGS and I find this pleasant surprise. As founder I am horrified by such a decision and I am in the position of canceling my subscription almost a year after starting on this platform ...
Would you mind mentioning this in the founders hub? We have to express our disappointment on every level!
From Stadia: Hey ________, we understand this is important to you. Publishers ultimately decide what type of controllers will be supported by a game — we’ll pass your feedback along to the right team. If you ask for a refund they won't give any. That is totally fraudulent, you can't just sell games that you will disable few days after. You kill all customer trust and it is just deeply dishonest
This is very strange, I think its more than what is stated.... I was playing PUBG on Stadia and having a great time, the games were real, amazing, and always winnable because of the lack of cheaters ruining the experience...
THEN...
Something happened around August/September, every time I got into a game, it felt so different. Suddenly my 33% win rate went to 0%. But not only that, all the battles started feeling entirely different. I noticed people chasing me over mountains with no sight with pinpoint accuracy. People started always lighting me up never being seen. I felt like they finally put the game in PC queue's.... And perhaps that's exactly what happened?!? My game experience went from a great time, to screw this game overnight.. for a whole week it continued... i watched death cams and have video of strange stuff... I have videos of people standing behind walls, then turning and running right at me.. but then I look up changes and there's no PC cross play experience... Totally bizarre... The only thing I can think of, is perhaps a sound hack got out...and people on Stadia were perhaps exploiting it?!? How else could you cheat?!? Not sure, only a guess, or perhaps they did open up the queues only to learn that 50% of their keyboard players quit because of the insane cheating problems on PC. I dunno, but I am not buying this crap, "we decided to focus solely on controller" excuse... Why not leave it? Who cares if there's no players! What difference does it make?!?!
I put money in on that Esports crap, and bought tickets etc.. Guess I have to file for a refund.. But still, we need the truth!
No keyboard support on PUBG is so typically Google. Having a problem and solving it shuting something down. Are you telling me connecting controler players seperately from keyboard players is too complicated?
Please keep in mind it's only partially Google's fault. Apparently they didn't force developers to support input devices indefinitely.
But it's ultimately PUBG's decisions to prioritise money over users. Though Stadia gets the bad reputation, that's for sure!

Good idea, I did so right away!
Yup , sent my ticket
All the other console users have option to buy third party adapter to play with keyboard and mouse but for some reason there isn’t any in stadia. I’m considering to buy a console just because of this reason. Cmon stadia.
o.k. this is NOT COOL. I will NOT play 1st person shooters or even 3rd person shooters on pc with a controller ( i just WON'T do it) with that said, i LOVE stadia,so i REALLY HOPE this isn't a trend and they plan to ruin other games such as destiny 2 , and borderlands 3 , doom , excetera with this Controller ONLY B.S. Stadia PLZ do NOT Ruin any more of your games by removing mouse and keyboard support...
I loved PUBG with mouse and keyboard. Now, sadly, I'll never play it again (unless they open up for mak again). The concept of cloud gaming is great, but I absolutely hate playing fps on a controller. This is just such an obvious lie: "we found that a predominant amount of our players preferred to play with a controller". If they actually believe that them selves, they must have read their statistics report incorrect. ALL players I ever spoke when playing PUBG on Stadia used mouse and keyboard.. I never ran into anyone playing on a controller.
Millions of people play PUBG on PC’s with keyboard and mouse.
given time it its possible Stadia would have grabbed a lot of the ‘PC gamers’ who got tired of the the rife cheating and hacking on the standard PC version and wanted to move to a clean, unhackable, fair playing field.
unless PUBG/Stadia change their decision, we’ll perhaps never know if this uncheatable stadia version would have, given more time, further gained traction.
I think it would !
the REAL failure was in NOT getting this uncheatable aspect of stadia communicated properly out to the world community of PC gamers (ie the PC gamers that dream of a clean PUBG version.
They really missed a trick there.
so, instead of marketing it properly, they just turned it off ![]()
I wrote to PUBG and stated many of the points others made in this thread in particular that i could not see it being much of a cost (to a multi-million $ company) to keep the stadia KBM server running
I eventually got a response from PUBG, where they restated the usual blurb, but did say they would pass my comment on to the game dev team
lets see
This is such BS. Who the F plays PUBG with the controller? I've enjoyed countless hours with my friends on PUBG KBM and was ready after a short break to dive back in, but this is a no go for me. I've canceled my subscription
The main idea of Stadia was to play whenever, wherever, with whatever. Not to add limitations and remove KBM !
Word! As a founder maybe you could raise this topic in the VIP area of this community ?
It wasn't Stadia / Google's decision.
PUBG Corp decided the Stadia version would be the Xbox/PS version to allow crossplay with those platforms, but they took the decision to segregate KB&M players as it was viewed as an advantage. This meant PUBG Corp had separate ongoing server overheads just for Stadia KB&M. After a few months they decided they would no longer support those servers as the traffic didn't justify it, so they canned them.
Stadia does have hardware agnostic QA requirements, but they can't force a company to lose money.
Hello, I would like to refresh this topic. The game should allow playing on the keyboard and the mouse, it would be enough to create two servers dividing the players between the pads and the keyboard and mouse. The current approach to the subject is very discriminatory. It is known that in games of this type the best option is the keyboard and mouse. It's really wrong approach to the problem, keyboard/mouse playing of this type of game should be allowed. What has been applied is not a problem solving, but to break it down into two smaller problems and solve only one of them.
