On Oct. 6, the Stadia mouse and keyboard matchmaking pool will be closed. Since launch, Stadia has given us the ability to reach a wider audience for new and returning players on an additional platform. As the service evolved, we found that a predominant amount of our players preferred to play with a controller. Due to this, we’ve decided to focus on the Stadia controller matchmaking pool, helping maximize our Battle Royale experience for players and giving them the best experience possible. While the consolidation of both matchmaking pools was explored, we felt that keeping a controller only queue was critical to upholding the competitive integrity of the player experience, as is the case with all our platforms. For refunds of content purchases, please contact Stadia Support at http://g.co/stadia/help to get in touch with an agent.
Hey there Anthony, I recommend taking a look at PUBG's Console Update 8.3 Patch Notes. It states the following:
Have any of you guys tried the other cloud platforms like Nvidia GeForce Now ? , or Vortex ?,
I just tried Vortex. They have quite a lot of games and often require you to have a Steam license, e.g., for PUBG.
For me (Denmark) the Vortex gaming experience was horrible (very high latency on mouse feedback). I used default settings. As I had played more than 15 mins I could not get a refund, so beware of that.
I have not tried GeForce Now as they have removed PUBG.
I may consider trying Shadow, but they have no available servers in Europe until next year.
So here Stadia PUBG KB&M rules! Why not enable it again? It is a GREAT showcase for battle royale games (even FPS) in the competitive cloud gaming market.
Jut to follow on from this...
I quite missed stadia pubg and bought the PC version for £12 for Steam via a cheap CD-key website, just to give it a go, even though my intel HD630 onboard graphics is not very good.
it runs on minimum settings , but the low resolution and frame rate, whilst playable would make getting a chicken dinner impossible. but at least I have a cheap licence for when I next upgrade my PC to a better spec.
I also tried PUBG lite, for low spec PC's, this runs reasonably ok at 30-40 fps, with decent resolution at 1080 with many of the settings tweaked and toned down. it actually runs pretty good and is quite good fun.
a few observations on this though, on this mass played version , there doesnt seem to be much teamwork, players just head off in whatever directions most of the time, which seems a shame and undermines the whole point of squad play.
and I also think cheating is pretty rife, Even when hiding places, or in buildings behind walls, I seemed to get sought-out and killed too easily, and impossibly in some situations.
but either way, the PUBG lite version is free and is quite fun. (and better than PUBG mobile) as it uses KBM
Thanks a lot for your little review, FunkyMonkey (1 oder 2?
another familiar name though!)
I'm also missing PUBG a lot and was close to buy it on steam as well. But the high number of bad reviews concerning cheaters and bad behaviour of devs (like removing loved modes etc contra community opinion) made me hesitant.
Of course your description of bad player behaviour doesn't make it any better.
At this point I see no good argument to play PUBG outside of Stadia and the only thing left for me is to wait until KBM returns to Stadia.
Hard enough to be bombarded with Stadia adds on the internet showing the PUBG logo, not mentioning that you can only play it with external peripherals...!
I share your pain bro !
PUBG Lite IS worth a download in the meantime tho. Afterall Its completely FREE.
if any of you good men do give it a try, dont hesitate to friend me, and play squad with me
And if not, keep well, and il sees you around back in STADIA PUBG keyboard&mouse one day !!!
Ps im FunkyMonkey2020 on PUBG Lite
I'll toss ya a friend invite: YUP42
I've been playing nightly for the past couple of weeks with a buddy.
FPS with a gamepad?! That's like running 100m with a walking frame.
succcckkksss
The only reason I got Stadia was to play PUBG with mouse and keyboard. I bought a new laptop today and was so looking forward to playing on a larger screen, only to find out there's no more mouse and keyboard support. If I wanted to play PUBG with a limiting gamepad, I would have bought a console.
I like the idea of letting Stadia mouse and keyboard PUBG players queue with PC players.
I really have no other reason to keep Stadia unless I can play PUBG with mouse and keyboard. I don't want to drop 2 grand on a gaming computer just to play one game, with cheaters at that. Stadia's biggest pro is that by it's very nature limits cheaters.
Downgrading a game, what a poor user experience.. I cancelled my pro account as well. Will be back when stadia start to care for their users and make sure their gaming platform is as promised, game pad and keyboard friendly.
Playing on a laptop PUBG or any FPS with no other choice than the stadia controller is ridiculous. Does anyone in the stadia team acknowledge that?
Dommage, si je joue à PUBG sur PC, c'est justement pour utiliser KB&M, sinon, je jouerai sur console...
Mauvaise décision !
**bleep**.... I renewed/ rejoined Stadia a week ago with intention to play PUBG with Keyboard and Mouse. Now will have to play whatever there is till the end of the month and then cancel my subscription. There are so many alternatives of cloud gaming and cloud virtual machines and whatnot. Stadia makes you buy games and play them only on Stadia and only with Stadia community and SECONDLY out of the blue lets PUBG discriminate big chunk of Stadia players (K+M).
Im let down both by Stadia for not allowing other PUBG owners (that own it on PC) to be in same lobby. Let down by PUBG for no allowing the option of cross play between the two input methods. At least as option or voting in lobby during matchmaking could be implemented so that K+M could join providing controler players dont mind.
RIGHT ON !
we were badly let down by PUBG DEVS for not allowing access to the PC gamer servers.
I don't think anyone here would have cared that much about the PC gamers having a SLIGHT EDGE on cross-play.
(especially considering many PC gamers have rigs worth ££££'s and Stadia gave me a GREAT PUBG gaming experience even on my crappy old dell micro-form-factor desk PC albeit with 4k monitor
)
Stadia/PUBG Devs if your reading this....... FFS, just turn KBM back on and link to the PC servers !!!
It is never going to be cross play between Stadia PUBG PC (keyboard and mouse) and PUBG PC (keyboard and mouse).
The reason is simply technical... Us playing on Stadia is playing a Console port of the game, and therefore they couldn't solve the issue with cross play... Something like that
If that is true, and they knew from the get-go that KBM players would be a smaller / niche audience, then as I've said before, why didn't they consider crossplay with the consoles/gamepad players , whereby KBM players took a latency 'lag-penalty' to offset mouse accuracy?.
I'm sure the coders could work that out pretty easily, and if not, then it begs the question;
Why The F*** did they bother starting with a KBM option in the first place ?!?
(i've removed my Cynical EDIT rant)
FunkyMonkey
I mean if cross play with pc player is not available that's fine for me. The Knm community on Stadia was enough . Waiting an average of 2min to launch a game, at most 4/5min. Day and night.
The most frustrating part regarding PUBG side is that they have all the design templates and gameplay ready for Knm. It doesn't cost them much to keep this small community of stadia keyboard player alive and still they rather get rid of it. They really don't care about us.
And about stadia, when you have a community of keyboards user playing PUBG on your plateform over 5 month, developing skills & friendships you do not take that from them with a short announcement stipulating that you will refund people. You negotiate with the game publisher and make sure no one in your community is left behind.
Feel like stadia players care more about the community than the people running the plateform. We believed in your virtual console when nobody else does but you are definitely not helping us and if you don't show any support for the few that joined what do you expect on the long term?
THIS!
Thanks, Napoleon. I could not have said it any better!
I totally agree with your words Napoleon
I couldn't have explained it better either
I´ve allready cancelled my pro suscription on Stadia....
Well said sir. Thanks for capturing my sentiments.
Wow, this is just ridiculous. We've been exclusively playing PUBG on stadia for months with great enjoyment. We never cared about the bots at all and the community was the nicest I've encountered in years of online gaming. It was just so casual and loose. So, farewell to everybody I killed on the battleground the last couple of months
It was a pleasure and I'll miss you guys..
Maybe we can work out some sort of petition to change this situation?
So disapointed... PUBG was the only stadia game I was playing on a daily basis. It was real fun and made me feel that paying for a pro license was worth it along with some other games I was playing now and then. Now, I am considering canceling my pro license.
I placed so much hope in google about the Stadia, now I will have to admit that I was wrong.
Such a shame.
Hmm PUBG is the only game i play on stadia and enjoy playing it with keyboard and mouse, i have tried playing it with the stadia controller and it is just not working for me at all *SIGH* i guess i have to go back to the old PC only setup... you should seriously reconsider undoing this move.
Using a controller for PUBG absolutely SUCKS!!
This was the only game I really played on Stadia as a Pro member... and I thoroughly enjoyed playing this game with mbk. I just can't enjoy the gaming experience with current gamepads... This is a sad day for me... I guess... Just keep taking more money from me and I just won't play Stadia anymore you can just have my money to make gaming better for others in the future. I'll support your journey, I just won't be involved in on it at a gamer level. I guess it's time for me to play more big boi gamez in da RLz!
I joined Stadia to play PUBG with mouse and keyboard and I’m not going to play it with the controller, I have an Xbox and a PlayStation for that. If I liked playing FPS with a controller I would not have paid Stadia!
Basically Google is forcing us to buy a Stadia controller. Cancelling subscription...............
I unsubscribed from Stadia in the same moment they closed the k&m matchmaking, I hope some competitor will put PUBG among the games. funny to see many familiar names in this conversation ![]()
The worst thing is the explanation givent by the PUBG publisher: "we found a predominant amount of players preferred to play with a controller". Well, if you want to play stadia on a chromecast you have no other choice. I very much doubt that player "prefer" to play PUBG with a controller.
Also utterly disappointed with this decision, and equally disappointed with Stadia to let PUBG get away with it. Will ask for a refund.
Late night thoughts: as there are multiple Stadia Founders in the comments, could you maybe mention our situation in the founders hub?
I think it would be important to get our dissatisfaction as close to Stadia as possible.
That would be great to have feedbacks from the stadia team. If anyone out there could at least acknowledge the situation, that would already be a good start.
