Hi after many months using stadia im really satisfied! Only complain is the poor HDR performance. Disabling it you receive a better crispy image. I have read that stadia will improve the service. Is it thruth? Stadia needs more power against new xbox and improve the video compresion....thanks!!!!
We will know more on Tuesday with stadia connect.
It is time Google start doing better on communication, it is unreal how bad they are at it.
Hi @jayo2k
what do you miss? Maybe you can provide feedback about the type of information that you think are missing?
And / or you can use the Stadia app feedback feature.
@Tobonaut their communication is crap, haters are doing a better job showing false information...
I mean many people think after pro you can not play even the games you bought
People think all 4k games are just 1080p upscaled
While every other games companies said because of covid-19, they do some promotion, haters tag Google for doing just that
All that are work from haters and Google seem to lack marketing skills
I hope the connect will be better, Google really need to improve their marketing
I should start off with a disclaimer. I think for the price Stadia is a decent product and I am in general a Google fan boy.
However, as the future of gaming, I am really not sold on the product. I find the available games, in game performance, size of community (just over 500+K Stadia app downloads in Google play store), and features in Stadia (console) to be large steps backwards compared to the leading consoles and/or PC gaming. Even if it is a solid step forward in creating a cloud gaming platform.
I agree Google communication on Stadia has been wanting. As has Google's roll out of features they communicated at launch. I feel that unless Stadia and Google significantly increase communication and become more transparent about feature delivery timelines they will struggle to build a robust gaming community. If they struggle there, they will struggle to maintain the customer base they have managed to create thus far.
I also believe that if they do not concentrate on closing some of the in Stadia gaps for friend / party and other features it will only add to the struggle and decay of their player base. The more complicated integrations promised in the future of gaming can wait in my opinion until they have even footing in the console feature. The rudimentary options provided by the console during gaming are lack luster at best. Google assistant feature is missing and screen capture key gets hit often (and going to manage your captures is pushed to the 'app' where management of these bad captures is even worse). The features do not come close to their promises. Even the portion of the player base who like me think for $9.99 you might be getting decent bang for the buck in free games and overall experience in an early to market streaming product.
Unless something significant in features, games and communication happens in months before new consoles hit the market, I expect Stadia to have a hard time staying even remotely viable. With features that will be difficult if not impossible for Stadia to match coming in the new consoles and new console features that make much of the Stadia upside less novel, there has to be something special for players to stay. If they want to play in the game market they are going to have to accelerate some of these special sauce feature enabled games that are a differentiator from and not lag consoles on market for games.
I know personally I appreciate what Google has tried to do with Stadia. However, I feel like Google may not have been ready for the console battles. I personally will be at best sticking to free Stadia Pro content until my subscription runs out and will not be paying for any content within their ecosystem until I see some a clear roadmap to features and games promised. I am likely moving back to my other console and using the extra data costs I was paying my internet provider elsewhere in new console purchase or games supporting larger communities.
@ToasterTate I think the game performances is great overall, I do not want to play my Xbox one S...
That being said, Google needs to realize that it is not an app or website they are launching, nor a new service... It is gaming and game console have been here for years, it is not like this is the first gaming platform so that lean business thing can not work... Customers want a finished product, lean approach work when you are launching a totally new product, not when you are entering a mature market with lot of competitions.
Stadia has the potential to be simply the dominent gaming platform but google are not doing it right, they should ask themselves what in this current state or near future is an incentive to keep players...
The fact that you do not need to buy an expensive gaming console is spot on (do not expect the next gen console to be under $500), but google does not even capitalize on that. Have you seen the stadia app commercial...? It is very confusing, This add does not explain what exactly is the service.
Google should go hard on young people, they are the one who will grow up and be the mass customers, and to do that, bring games they want.
They love Fortnite, why not advertising that by saying "play now, no need to buy a gaming laptop"... This is where I think they should focus on the youtube integration and adding games. Younger people are not Sony nor microsoft fanboys.
Because let us say some one sees a video of cyberpunk on youtube, then see the button "play now", he click on it and bam, he play it... Do you really think he will even think about buying a console when he is already playing for cheaper...?
Google should really focus on bringing more games, more triple A games because what do people see :
on one end you have : COD, Black ops, Fortnite, GTA V, God of war, spiderman...
And on stadia you only have very little games...
Stadia has the potential of simply crushing everything, it is just that google seems to be messing it up, they should hire a marketing firm, be more transparent, be clear on what games are coming and when, they said 120 games but we have no informations, no clue, no nothing about those.
I am even afraid of that Stadia connect since they said "few upcoming games"... FEW? Google should really use the fact that next gen console are not there yet to try to grab as much users as possible.
Sure stadia is / will be free but here one scenario :
One sees lot of great games on Xbox series X and / or PS5, those games are not on Stadia, so he will buy one of those console, then what will make him buy cross platform games on Stadia if he already have a console and most games are cheaper...?
Stadia has the potential, Google is just not doing it right, that lean model is not suited for this industry especially when there are already established companies like Sony and microsoft.
Dear google, do not promise lot of great features to just launch a stripped down version of what we were expecting.
Dear google, show us the games
Dear google... COMMUNICATE BETTER
Will they have 2k21 next gen
@Tobonaut @ : Is it an illness that nobody in the stadia team seems to know what communication means? no roadmap! Announced features from the start are missing! Even the employees of the game Studios experienced how communication is at stadia ... Incidentally, there is a accusation due to incorrect information at the start. Which is also fully justified
In the end it is all about business.
But **bleep** Jeff Kaplan made me cry yesterday with Overwatch 2.
Google has neither soul nor passion.
