Hi,
My Friends and i loved to play Single Player Games together by sitting next to each other and simply passing the controller around (back in the PS1 days). We even tried this recently remotely with Darksouls, running on a Paper Space instance via Parsec and it was super Fun.
I would love to see such a feature on stadia, where you can simply pass the session around to some friends in a party chat that are currently watching you play. This would also work nicely as a youtube format (some sort of Let's Play Together).
I keep seeing some semblance of this idea around the forum today, it's a little hard to wrap my brain around but it could be a really good idea. Given Stadia can truly be a "free" platform in that all you need is an Internet connection and input control, this is almost a cloud-connected version of gaming around the playground? We used to pass game carts around to our friends, get together and play one with each other in the same room...How can Stadia achieve something like this but (literally) miles apart across the Internet?
It could definitely be possible though potentially very complex, I'm excited to think about the possibilities.
It's even not that complex, technically it's just sending the video stream also to your selected friends or party members. it's kinda the same as stream connect (this picture in picture thingie from the division 2, for example).
maybe if you addd things like ownership. questions like "do all party members have to own the game?" and stuff like that.
I think removing the idea of "ownership" though would be what makes this really interesting. When we passed around game carts to our friends, only one person "owned" it. A digital version like this to play with your friends across the Internet would be pretty cool.
This is a cool idea. Might be a game specific feature using stream connect so you all can view what the other player is doing.
My wife and I do this with Crash Bandicoot. Just pass controllers back and forth each life.
Wish I could do that with my brother from a distance like when we were kids lol
