Hi there. I've been on here before talking about how poorly I thought RE7 performs on Stadia. I completed that game a week ago and although the game does suffer from stuttering frame rate, it doesn't suffer from it all of the time. I bought REV on Tuesday, and it suffers from the same frame rate stutters, but more frequently. I've yet to come upon a part of the game that doesn't stutter. I would normally put this down to poor optimization, and it perhaps is, but I decided to do 2nd play through of Doom Eternal last night and that game has started suffering from major freezes and frame rate stutters. I've also noticed, when The Ancient Gods part 2 came out, that the game looses all sound in the right channel when the intro Bethesda & ID logos come up. Doom Eternal never stuttered and froze in my first play through. It was silky smooth. I tested the theory that it might be my connection, but all other game's run fine, including Doom 2016. I hope this message might get to someone on the Stadia team, so they can look into it.
PS I'm playing Stadia in Aberdeen/ Scotland, so there may be issues on the UK Stadia servers.
I feel you on re7, been playing it myself and experiencing minor but increasingly annoying frame drops, haven't tried village so I can't say for certain but I have watched youtubers play it on console and pc, and they all suffer from massive frame drops.
Hello @Babaganuche7,
I finished Resident Evil (8) Village without any framedrop.
Probably something about RE7 but I don't think it's Stadia issue. Maybe contacting the devs instead ?
@Babaganuche7 I'm not sure RE7 drops frames on PS4. I bought it back in 2017, and although I never got far through the PS4 version I did do a side by side comparison when we got RE7 on pro. In the main house just after the meal with the family the Stadia version drops frames (really badly) when you are up on the next floor looking down at the Caravan. None of that happens in the PS4 version (my one is a base PS4). I can't remember how far I originally got through the PS4 version, but I think it was when you first come across those black monsters in the cellar. I don't remember any drops, but there could be later on. The PS4's loading times are really painful though. Probably just poor optimization on Capcoms part.
@BarthandelusAre you playing the game with a Controller with a CCU or mouse and keyboard on a PC. Frame drops, skips etc are much less noticeable while using a keyboard and mouse.
Both.
I'm playing RE8 with keyboard & mouse with my computer using Chrome, and with Stadia controller using my chromecast on my TV. Both my TV & computer are wired (ethernet).
I did optimize Stadia on my computer using everything I found on the net, and use Game mode on my TV.
For controller I'm plugged in USB on my computer to play some games (AC: Valhalla, etc). Works fine. Also tried RE8 but didn't notice anything.
On my TV I'm using the Stadia controller with 5GHz WiFi.
@Barthandelus Did you not even notice the drops in frame rate in the Castle in the main hall or the micro stutters when you first enter the Village? I've spoken to quite a few people, and I'm not the only one noticing this. It might be down to the Servers we have in the UK. None of these ruin the game, but I've always been very sensitive to frame rate drops etc. I'm not the only one, so I'm not just seeing things.
All stuttering problems, fps drops, corrupt save game problems, audio problems, lack of patches and updates, ALL STADIA users globally get the same problems in the same games.
When you see a user say that it does not happen to him, he is simply LYING
Yeah, I think that too. I hate to say this, but I have to. I've always hated fanboys on the other platforms because they cause more problems than they solve. Sony, Microsoft PC & Nintendo fanboys bash the hell out of Stadia, because its new and fanboys hate something new from a new company that enters the market. The problem is it creates fanboys on the new platform making it a vicious circle. I've been bushwhacked a few times on Facebook by Stadia fanboys, feeling that I am attacking the Stadia platform. I haven't been however, I love the Stadia platform. I'm just an old gamer that games on many platforms & wants patches for the games that I see as buggy or not running as well as they do on my base systems (I have been comparing Doom Eternal and RE7 that I have on base PS4 to the Stadia ports)
Well there are always parts of the communities that are more enthusiastic than others.
Here the point is that Stadia is what it is, you accept it as it is or you are looking for an alternative.
The problems will not disappear in the short medium term.
It is best not to participate in conflicts on social networks.
I've always avoided conflicts on social networks. I never get involved. The problem I find is bringing a topic up in the first place. Especially if you bring up that a game is a bit buggy or performing badly. I get bushwhacked when I do that. Only in Stadia groups though. I never had that problem with Sony or Microsoft groups. People in those groups are normally bringing up the same issues as me. It's pretty weird.
Yes I understand, but developers, publishers and Stadia know perfectly all the errors that the platform and the games have.
Complaining does not make sense because they will fix it when they can or if they can, because they may not be able to fix all these faults.
It is completely up to them to offer a product that the masses like, not the same 4 people who participate in social networks.
Stadia will improve but very slowly, especially with the doubts it generates in consumers.
It's not all Stadia's fault, poor marketing, old hardware, and gambling on failed AAA games.
With a small budget and few unskilled employees, everything will be much slower.
Surely those people (fanboys) are aware of all these flaws and surely they see the defense and positivity of getting more people to join Stadia so they can fix and bring more games with a bigger budget.
I mean I also have about 9 or 10 games that I cannot reproduce and I keep waiting for a solution and I am aware that they may not be solved.
In Watch Dogs Legion I don't even have audio in CCU.
Yesterday my Fifa data got corrupted.
I mean normal Stadia things.
I just don't start it, just accept your fate.
You would think they would know what all the bugs are, but many developers don't. That's why people have to try to bring them to their attention. Sometimes it's the only way developers find out about and fix these bugs and issues. That's why many people try to bring these issues up on a developer's forum. Things have always been this way. Things haven't changed all of a sudden because a game is release on the Stadia platform
Well this is also a lie, a developer knows perfectly all its problems.
Sending the customer to complain is only a measure of pressure.
It's not a lie. I've been gaming since the 1970s and since I first started gaming on PC (1993) there has been many cases that a developer didn't know about a bug in their game and the only reason they found out about it was because of the community on their forums.
I also have to ask. What was the original lie you are accusing me of telling? You typed "also a lie"
I did not mean that you are lying, I was referring to a popular lie.
If a developer does not know and test the product on the platforms where they launch their product, they simply do not care, so your complaint does not make sense either.
For something is the QA
It still happens mate. CP2077 was a good example of that in regard to the PS4 and Xbone versions. It wouldn't surprise me if ID didn't know about the freezing and sound bugs in Doom Eternal on Stadia. There is never anything wrong with letting them know about it. Hopefully they notice the topic I brought up on their forums.
And Stadia is not a PC with different configurations, it is a fixed hardware with the same specifications so it must have a double filter.
Now you have to wonder why products are launched, sold and maintained by skipping that double QA.
The answer is that they don't care.
ID now is a Microsoft developer, sure they know but is not a priority.
Well cyberpunk... I don't need say nothing everybody knows and CDPR knows or you think they have a hidden finished game and don't want release it, they knows.
And cyberpunk is the same video game on all platforms, Xbox and ps4 only had slower loading of textures and more crashes, but it was / is the same unfinished game on all platforms.
You really think that QA didn't notice them, the release date arrived and it wasn't finished.
CDPR Doesn't know all the bugs in their game. Years from now people are still going to be finding new ones. That has happened many times with The Elder Scrolls series. New ones still pop up now and then in Skyrim. The Witcher 3 is the same. Bugs in open world games are sometimes really hard for developers to find. They may find most, but not all.
What?
Ok... I loved the talk, I wish you a good and beautiful day, greetings.

Hi @Doomster1971,
Sorry to hear you are having issues with some titles.
Best thing you could try is contacting the developers and or Stadia Support chat.
Hope things will get resolved soon. ![]()
I've not got in touch with the Stadia team, I hate talking to support. I had to deal with them with a faulty Controller, and It wasn't the best experience. I just ended up buying a new one. I posted on Bethesda/ ID forums though. I'm not sure if it will get to the developers. I would be surprised if they don't know the problems already. Play testing should be able to pick up those freezes.
Sadly I agree with you.
The first time I've talked to the Stadia Support it was awesome, during the firsts days.
Now, I did need help a couples week ago, the technician support I did get doesn't even know they were ports used by Stadia (that you can open to increase performances and highly reduce input lag). The only thing he does so far was giving me a link to self-diag my problem.
Hope Google will do something about it.
If you have headphones in the controller. Try disconnect them and start the game without the headphones. I had the same issue and it’s something when you plugg in headphones. Without headphones it works perfect.
I tried that mate. It happens with both headphones and speakers. It goes back to normal once past the initial into. I noticed it when the Ancient Gods part 2 came out. Doom Eternal never had issue's before that. I just assumed ID would have patched the freezes and loss of sound from the right channel by now. I just re-downloaded it on my PS4, and it doesn't have any of the same problems. I hope ID take notice of my post on their forums.
Right. I've managed to find a possible (temporary fix) for Doom Eternal. It doesn't fix the right audio channel issue, but it gets around the game freezing. When I start the game, and it gets to the camera freezing when passing the Moon, I paused the game and exited to main menu. I deleted the game that was started and restarted it. The Intro played correctly after that. Once I started the first level however the freezing starting again, so I did what I did before, but this time I skipped the entire intro and the first level started correctly. I just got as far as glory killing the zombie through the first door, which normally has a 3-second freeze and there was no freeze. I'm not sure about the rest of that level, but if I encounter more freezing I'll post it on here.
I've also posted this message on the Slayer forums with the hope that ID Software will see it and fix these bugs.
The freezing kicked in again. Just during the intro level though (until you jump off the first Titan). It seems fine after that (so far). Perhaps that's why many others don't notice it (because they are not starting the game from scratch again). There is no way I'm going to play test the rest of the game for ID software or Stadia though. That's their job.
