I literally have a Stadia Founders Edition controller that was delivered this morning that I cannot use because Google can't get their act together and send emails properly. Ordered June 7, no code yet.
We were promised access to this service on November 19. Some people may have taken off work for this launch. How will Founders be compensated for this?
I'm not one to ever complain about being wronged to the point where I think compensation is fair-- but Google Execs on the Stadia announcement livestream said, paraphrasing:
"Pre-order the founders edition and play on launch day! Also, get your game handle/nickname sooner than others as we're going to allow you to rsvp your nickname in the order of pre-orders received."
Not only is my kit not here for 2 more days, it took until almost 2pm PST for me to get my code. My preorder time is June 6, 10:40 AM PST.
If that wasn't early enough to warrant me getting my controller/kit this morning, then the fact that I live less than an hour from Google HQ or Google Cloud HQ should be enough.
Absolute shame on Google thusfar for how things are being handled.
In the same boat man. Had my controller for nearly 12 hours. Got it at 8:30 am. It is now 8:10 pm, and nothing yet. It's just a paperweight at this point.
They sold that nickname thing so hard and I feel failed on delivering that to people who ordered within hours of it going up to pre order, what I think they will do is give those users a few months extension to STADIA PRO, a few months extension to STADIA BUDDY PASS and maybe if they want to go all out a free first party exclusive game in the future.
Day 2, I certainly expected a code in my inbox this morning when I woke up. But nope!
How is Google so bad at this?
What really gets me is google had on their webpage we were guaranteed access at launch.
Launch has come and gone.
