I am always running a VPN. If I play Stadia while on the VPN, will that affect what servers I connect to when playing? Or are the servers you connect to established when you do the initial account set up and provide your billing info?
Hello @theGreatLamina,
It will check when you are trying to play where you are located (because of licenses and region based restrictions).
So if you want to play a game through VPN it will use the location based on your VPN.
Please note that a VPN is not optimal for the performance of Stadia.
If you have client based VPN solution like (PIA/ProtonVPN etc) you may want to use a different browser and excluded that from your VPN connection.
I am using PIA and have Chrome Canary specifically for Stadia and this is whitelisted on the PIA app so it wont use the VPN.

Depends on which servers you connect to. Typically with your vpn you would want to select the closest location to you so the servers don't need to send back data with extended latency.
I've been playing with a vpn on for a while and have experienced little to no issues.
Thank you for the replies. Based on your responses, it sounds like I'll be connecting to servers based on my VPN's location setting. I will try running through a server near me and if that does not bode well, I will follow the suggestion @RXShorty has made and whitelist a separate browser specifically for Stadia. Thank you again.
