STADIA wake up! Geforce Now is out!

Jump to solution

Geforce Now officially came out yesterday. Geforce Now is, so to speak, what Stadia wants to be. With it you can stream all games on Ultra in 1080p including RAYTRACING support.

I tested it yesterday and it really works, even better than Stadia. You can continue to use almost all of the games you own. It supports Steam, Uplay, Epic Games, Battlenet etc. The whole thing can even be used free of charge with a few restrictions. At the moment there is a Founder offer. Free for the first 3 months and then € 5.49 per month until the end of the year. Can be canceled at any time!

The service is awesome. I could really imagine that this is the future of gaming. Yesterday I tested a few things ... Wreckfest and Diablo 3 runs great ... World of Warcraft also ..... Kerbal Space Program also very good. I'm really excited. Which I also like much more than at Stadia ... you can still use the graphics settings of the games and set them as you like. This is not possible at Stadia, as it is more the same as with consoles.

Free to Play Games are also supported, e.g. Path of Exile or Fortnite. I have no idea what I'm going to do with all my hard drive space.

Stadia how long do you want to sleep. Nobody will buy their old games new for  60 € or more. You definitely overslept. If something doesn't change soon, unfortunately I don't see any future for Stadia.

Sorry for my Bad English im German.

@Nightcrow

Yeah I should've mentioned but I saw that bit about you finishing that session and then just being able to start another one. I don't get why the system would boot me out after 6 hours if it knows I'm still playing, only to have me start it right back up again. In the end it isn't a massive deal but it is exactly the kind of small inconvenience that'd have me just choose the Stadia option instead.

Not saying I'll never try it but I would certainly put much more consideration into it before handing over any money.

Discussions are great. This is a loaded subject for both parties. I feel like GeForce Now is a lesser service besides in the amount of games. Playing pc ports with a not so clear list of steam games available don't appeal to me. A lot of my Steam games where missing.

I raised the settings on Batman Arkham City and lagged below 30 fps on several occasions. Having graphical settings on a service like this without max abilities is a big no. I can't imagine tjose with some sort of self proclaimed "OCD".

They have the games, but I prefer the idea of a platform with games/ports developed with the cloud in mind.

@Bakken

Definitely not perfection

But right now for me

Family is watching things that no one should suffer through on tv 🙂

GFN I can actually play games from app on my Android phone and on Lenovo  tablet wirelessly

Stadia.... Promises and still after 3 months not what was sold in from the start

Stadia delivers when I can play it from Chromecast from my living room on the tv

But other then that....

But for me Stadia will have atleast this month for me to prove itself

Stadia name Nightcrow#9757 🙂

The one hour sessions thing is a joke. Completely destroys immersion and flow, not to mention incredibly inconvenient in many games today. Free model might as well not exist, they intentionally made it like this to annoy people into subbing. Attack the consumer to get their money, good business model.

Guys, I have this Stadia-thingy, and also GeForceN subscription , so I play with them frequently.. Well Stadia is superior almost in every aspect, GfN has horrible latency and server issues , constantly sending "spotty connection" alerts , while playing Stadia, I don't even experience resolution-changes. I use the same network of course. The only advantage GfN has, is the game-library , BUT since the last update, u can't play GTA V on it , wich is quite sucks.
