I've been using a generic, cheap controller on PC playing Siege the past month, and an average match I range from the lowest to best/MVP even against M/KBD players.
I bought the Stadia version two days ago and have put in about 5 hours using the Stadia controller.
No matter what options I choose, fiddling around with the settings, I cannot find anything acceptable, either too slow, too fast, dragging, weird gravity feeling... I am consistently the LVP, Least Valuable Player.
In a nutshell, I play well with a cheap controller on PC, but Stadia to Chromecast on my TV: the official Stadia controller is sucking badly and clearly detrimental to play.
Anyone able to share their controller settings?
Hey Kameleon,
controllers are a very individual thing and the satisfaction of using one or another can have a lot of different reasons.
Could you try your old gamepad with Stadia on PC? Then we could sort out wether it is the controller or the Stadia version that feels odd for you.
I am personally very interested in this because I struggle with the Stadia controller in R6 myself while I love it in e.g. DOOM Eternal. ![]()
Let's find out together and learn.
Hi there,
So here are the results of your request:
1. Connecting my generic (cheap) controller to Stadia on the Web on my PC led to similar results using the Stadia controller connected through Chromecast on my TV: poor quality. Lag. Strange gravity. Inaccurate.
2. Connecting my Stadia controller via USB cable to my PC, Web Stadia - as above.
3. Connecting my Stadia controller via USB cable to my PC and the Windows version of R6Siege via XOutput (required to run Stadia controller for non-Stadia games) either as good as my generic controller, or possibly better!
Result: Stadia controller works well via XOutput and USB cable for non-Stadia games. Unfortunately, it is very clear that the Stadia version of Siege both Web browser and via Chromecast to TV is low quality. It is a Stadia game version problem that requires better tuning.
I see.
Thank you for testing.
I personally don't like the controller behaviour in R6 Siege on Stadia either but found out that a DualSense helps me because the thumbsticks offer a slightly better feeling. Nonetheless, other users might have a different opinion ![]()
Let's hope for an update soon ![]()
Stay in touch with the community because testing and sharing is of great value for us and hopefully for the developers as well.
I have been playing r6 for a few days now and haven't had any issues with my stadia controller. Is your stream itself lagging or just the controller?
Seeing as the controller was USB connected to my PC Web browser, it's unlikely the Stadia controller is lagging. However, it could be lagging via Bluetooth to Chromecast. Regardless, as mentioned, for me the Stadia controller on both Chromecast and Web browser - Stadia are both problematic.
Is siege the only game you tried? Is your pc hardwired?
I played other games on Stadia via Chromecast to TV and in particular, Cyberpunk had similar issues at times, the lag, the sliding/dragging feeling when moving the stick rather than rapid movement.
PC hardwired? You mean LAN cable? I use Wi-Fi.
