Just one question:
I supported Stadia from day 1, preordered for 120€ and when I received it I started to spread the word about this awesome way of playing games.
And now it is thrown away for Youtube pro users and preorders for Cyberpunk 2077 just for FREE leaving loyal early adopters with....nothing?
Some people will never be happy....
Do your homework there were lots of great deals for new and old stadia player's.
First off, it doesn't even show you as a founder. Also, It's no different than people who are spending $500 now for a ps5 or xbox, whereas two years from now they will be $250 or $300. Be happy they are getting more gamers on the system to get better multiplayer. And founders did get more such as free months of pro, more pro games, etc.
I'm happy to have supported such a great system and welcome the new promos.
Dont know why it doesnt Show it.
You mentioned the point why I am not so happy. After two years half the price on consoles seems legit (never seen here in EU but in pricing we are milk cows anyway).
But after 1 year a 100% Discount?
> But after 1 year a 100% Discount?
This is not a 100% discount, you have to buy cyberpunk 2077 and, I think, that even as Founder you can get this offer ;).
I somewhat understand your point of view.
Thing normally is that early adaptors pay for those who join later. Just check out Samsung mobile phones for example.
And you did used and enjoyed playing right? Isn't that the most important thing? ![]()
Only thing that annoys me is that buying the bundle is cheaper then buying a new controller.
Bought stadia around this time last year
Feels like I paid 120eur to much for Premiere so we are all gonna sell the additional chrome cast and controller? ![]()
I actually get what you mean too. I bought Stadia back in January of this year strictly because I was interested in cloud gaming and getting back into gaming in general I wanted to get RDR 2 for Stadia so I paid $120 + $60 for the game. I thought $120 was basically the price of admission that allowed you to register an account. Then just a couple months later they were giving away registrations for either free or $9.99 with the first month being a free trial.
Not pissed or anything but I do feel stupid.
As a founder, I don't see this as a problem at all. It might be a little different for original premier members, but I pre-ordered as a founder to get the exclusive blue controller, to get the name I wanted with no numbers, and to be one of the first people to play. I also realize we probably paid a little more because at that time Google is trying to get money to make early contracts with developers, to hire people to build and support the platform etc.
So yeah, we paid a bit more. But we also had some good deals along the way that new people have missed.
Also, the CP2077 deal is available to all of us! The price of the game costs less that the price of one controller, so if you wanted an extra controller and were planning to buy CP2077 then it's a win for you too even if you're already a member.
Personally, I think the biggest problem Stadia faces right now is there's not enough users. In order to support the full vision of what Stadia is supposed to be across multiplayer, across the YouTube experience etc., they need a much bigger base of players. So I understand why they're basically giving it away right now. I hope it works and they can build the base and really make Stadia what they said it would be.
