I'm thinking of the same sort of feature that steam offers (as well as many streaming media sites) where your library has a family friendly view by default. I don't need my kids to start jumping into games that will scare them accidentally so right now I have to be really careful with how easy it is to start a Stadia game on my tv. Something as simple as a 4-digit pin option would be fantastic and either do it based on ESRB rating or give me the control to select the games hidden behind a pin. I'd actually prefer the latter but I suspect most people don't want to manage their library like I do and would prefer the former.
Love playing stadia, would love it if I didn't have to worry about kids hitting the stadia button on the controller and then having the TV turn on, stadia load up, and then they are presented with my entire game catalogue.
Get a higher shelf for that controller ![]()

They always find a way.
If you set up Stadia for you and your children, you should be able to restrict content based on their age, if I understand this correctly.
Here in the helpcenter you can find more information about it and how to set this up.
I appreciate the feedback but that is so much more complicated then what I have in steam, like way more complicated. A lot of games have multiple saves so why do I need multiple accounts? I really just want to get into a restricted view and when the kids aren't around unlock all the games. My daughter and I both enjoyed the steam world games and we just used separate save slots, nice and simple. No need for special approvals or anything like that.
Hi there @BookemDanno, friendly reminder that this is not a Founders-specific support forum and all support inquiries (including specific feature requests) should be directed towards the main forum. I'll be moving this post out of the Founders Hub to give all Stadia Community members the opportunity to chime in.
Thanks for understanding!
I have a pin setup on Chromecast, so when Stadia starts and I select my account it requires a pin to even load up. Did this way back last November with my original Stadia setup so I'm not 100% sure at what point in the process this came up. Possibly linking my Stadia account to the Chromecast? I believe you do this in the app.
This is most of the way there if I can get it. I see a pin for guest mode on the chromecast but that's not quite the setting that I think you may be referring to. Maybe if I factory reset the CCU I'll find the PIN during setup... I'll try it the next time I'm playing on that tv. Thanks!
Correct, it's not a Chromecast thing (definitely not a guest pin) so much as something with linking the Stadia account to the Chromecast. It's been long enough that I can't recall when this came up during setup. Good luck!
