I just hope, that that's just a translation/wording error.
However, this would be the perfect next chapter in "Stadia: How to mess up a promising concept in only two weeks"
Didn't Phil Harrison learn from the Xbox One launch? You not only need customers and a good product...you need loyal fans to be sucessful. Today, customer centricity is even more important than it was back in 2013.
"Hey there, we're sorry for the confusion. Free games claimed with your Pro subscription will not be accessible if your subscription expires. Any games you purchased with or without discounts are yours to play even if your Pro subscription expires."
Yes.
Look at their emails to you. It says:
Offer only open to ..... residents who purchase a Founder's Edition by 6 June 2020, or while supplies last. Offer must be redeemed within one year of dispatch. When you sign up for a monthly Stadia Pro subscription, you will receive the first three months at no charge. You will enjoy the same benefits in your first three months as in future recurring months of membership. Valid form of payment required at sign-up, but you will not be charged until your first three months have completed, and you may cancel at any time. At the end of the first three months, you will be charged the standard subscription price, currently $11.99/month. If you cancel your subscription, you will lose access to games unlocked in the subscription and any add-on or expansion content that you have purchased for those games. Add-on content is not refundable. If you re-subscribe, access to games that you had previously claimed will be restored, including any add-on content that you had purchased
@Grovelhog Sounds like something that gets lost in translation. If you buy discounted games as part of the Pro deals, you get to keep it even though your Pro membership expires. The "free" games included as part of the Pro membership are only accessible as long as you're subscribed. Similar to how PS+ plus.
I think the rule of thumb is if you actually make a purchase on the game, you get to keep it no matter what (well at least as long as the server stays alive.. but let's not go there)
