Pricing

I noticed Football Manager has price dropped across all platforms. Do we think Stadia is going to follow suit? The price seems really inflated now for the Stadia game.

@PHF1972 : I don't recall that it has been discounted yet on Stadia so there is a possibility that it will, but aside from Pro Deals I've not seen much in the way of any other games going through a price drop IIRC.

Kudos appreciated if deserved.

If the platform is going to be successful long-term I think prices need to keep pace with other platforms. That said, digital markets have always been a law unto themselves, holding the highest prices long after physical games have dropped in price many times. One of the downsides of digital only, and a real missed opportunity in my book - but we're a captive audience in this case, unfortunately, and I fear subscribers will vote with their feet if it's not addressed.

I see the inflated price arguement alot, and I'm sure people aren't gonna like me saying this but... I'd personally pay $10 more per game on Stadia. Why? I can play it anywhere, and I understand that comes at an extra cost to Stadia not me. Yet Stadia has consistently discounted games since launch which honestly surprises me. But disregard, and keep those discounts coming Stadia.

I don't like the pricing but I never planned to buy games got the kit solely for Destiny 2, now though my mind's changed and would like other games but not full price ones, a couple things that would get my money would be "stadia pro+"  an extra few pounds per month to get exclusive access to say 5 extra games for that month, also I'd easily "rent" games for couple days or a week at a fair price and don't call them rent because it sounds bad nowadays, call it limited trial.

My guess is that the answer to your question is no. Stadia has had some decent pro deals, but so far, they seem to be totally unrelated to what developers are charging on other platforms. So when the developers have a sale going on, it doesn't seem to affect Stadia prices at all. I think that needs to change, or Stadia is just going to be a wasted platform that most people won't buy games from, and if people won't buy games, developers won't develop games and won't port games. So the platform will fail if things don't change.

More troublesome as I mention in my other post today, Developers are starting to have pre-order sales for upcoming games, but they are not including any way to pre-order for Stadia, in fact when they mention PC, XBox and PS4, they aren't even mentioning Stadia. It's like it doesn't exist to the developers in their ads and promotions, and that's a big problem.

Google is not working hand-in-hand with the developers. If that doesn't change, the platform doesn't stand a chance.

Totally agree, I think Google need to be mindful of the pricing. If you see Google is charging nearly double than other platforms for a game that is not a new release, then you have to wonder is it the platform you want to invest in.
