Hello everyone,
I'm new to the Stadia service, and I must say I'm very impressed. As happened to many users, I started using this service to play in a decent way Cyberpunk 2077.
My original plan was to purchase a PS5 that, however, was impossible to find during the holidays. Not bad... this gave me the chance to try Stadia service
I must say I was impressed, Cyberpunk runs incredibly well and I already purchased another game (Watchdog legion, for which I'm, however, experiencing some frame rate drops... I hope they fix it) and subscribed to the pro plan.
I was seriously thinking to continue using the pro service and switch to the Stadia service, but despite it seems to have the same computational power of next-gen console (~11TFlop) and the support for the 4k (an aspect that I appreciate, and other services like GeforceNow doesn't offer), it surely doesn't have the same graphic performance: for example, it doesn't have the raytracing support at all.
This makes me still prefer to purchase a PS5 and play on it instead to completely switch to the Stadia service. I think that this could be a very profitable period to bring new users for Google before the PS5 will be easily purchasable in stores.
Is there any plan for the hardware/performance upgrade of the service? is there any sort of roadmap? Where I can find it?
Thank you.
I like stada alot it works for me no downloads no updates just hit playing you're in the game stada forever for me

@Vanquish In regards to your question about roadmaps, no Google has not released a roadmap on when or if it would receive hardware upgrades. The beauty of the cloud is that we could've already received upgrades you wouldn't even know it. Everything silently upgrades in the background at 0 cost to you, that's the beauty of Stadia over the PS5.
Cool... but from my point of view sounds more like a bug than a feature to not know what actually happens
I really appreciate having at 0 costs a hardware upgrade... but I would like to know before switching to a PS5 if there is any plan to have an actual upgrade. It would help me to properly plan my purchases.
@Vanquish Good point! Stadia seems to love the silent updates/drops. Honestly submitting this as feedback on the Stadia app might make them re-evaluate things. I'd highly suggest throwing a quick suggestion on there!
Ok, I'll do that!
Thank you, it is very interesting!
If I may make a suggestion:
Why don't you simply go for a PS5 as you already have everything you need for Stadia.
Then decide from case to case: Better on Stadia or better on PS5?
tbh the available games are performing better on PS5/XSX but sometimes you may opt for simplicity and mobility rather than pure optical crispness or (esp. in multiplayer) responsiveness.

At moment PS5 is still better then stadia
PS5 Pro
- Always top quality in gaming graph
- No delay
- All Peripherical supported (important specially for simulator)
- Internet not needed
minus for PS in general
Expansive
need to upgreat every 3 or 4 years
need to carry if want to play in other places
Pro Stadia
You can play all around world
Economic
minus stadia
without internet you cannot play
doesn't support mamy pheriferic , joystick, racing wheels and on and on
Slow internet connection means no graphic so not possible to play
Customer care is still really poor
as for now for my experience is better to use PS or PC for playing game but for sure in future the cloud gaming will win over it ![]()
I'd say buy the PS5, if you have the money it is worth it Ray tracing I read that is coming to Stadia, but stadia is something you can't touch, the PS5 is something you can show in your living room and is nice to have nice things. It also have exclusives games, maybe you already own games for the platform, etc. For the same reason I would never buy a ps5, I don't want to have it in my living room, I don't play that much anyway neither I want to spend the money. But if you like it it's a nice platform. It's solid. Man if I had the money, the time and the space I'd buy them all, ps5, Xbox, etc. I set for stadia because is simple, works great, doesn't collect dust, I can play it wherever, but it all comes down to personal choices at the end. Just details in between, but devil's in the details
