Where's the revolution? Where is the impact? Where are the super graphic monster games? Where is Google's Almighty Power? Where is the will to overrun the industry? Where is the money to do that? Where is the stunning marketing to let the world know? Where are the Oculus headsets? Where is the future? Where are the news news news? Why do I buy Darkside Genesis on Steam and not on Stadia?
At the moment, Stadia is flying so incredibly under the radar that even my super nerdy buddy had no idea that Stadia exists. But he's always the first to be involved in such things.
There is simply a lack of quality. The graphics of the games are apparently extremely disappointing for some or most. It should be able to compare with PC graphics and not with the switch or a PS4 that has been running for too long.
Also the silence excites me. The Stadia team has nothing. No communication, no release dates, no roadmap for features. It seems as if Google doesn't want to be successful. To make such a product successful you have to push push push.
I want Stadia to be successful. I love Stadia for what it can be, but not for what it is. And also the empty promises are **bleep**.
Hate me if you want, but that's my opinion. It just has to happen more. It frustrates me that you never get clear answers from Google or the Stadia Team. As if only one person would work there. These community updates are partly a joke. The reaction to bugs etc is a joke. The prices are also a joke.
And why is Stadia compared to consoles? I don't understand. When I look at the trailers and the connectors, I don't get the feeling of "console", but the feeling of "a PC alternative". Best graphics etc. That doesn't exist at the moment, but ok.
Stadia is released since November 19th. That is clear to me, but it should have been a MONSTER from the beginning and not a small mouse.
I love the controller and I find Destiny is well optimized and runs great, and I hope all my frustration goes away in the next few months.
Yeah agree with you, would be great if Stadia would be a "monster" and provide a lot of features or games at the beginning... but unfortunately I guess this is how modern companies are running things these days.
I do still remember the times when I just bought a cassette or CD game in physical form, installed it for a longer time at my PC and then just enjoyed the whole game. But at that time there was no online-play, etc.
I guess these days we're expecting a lot from companies, we want everything together and everything now. We want multiplayer options, PvE, PvP, Roleplay, whatever options. I don't know if this is because of the money or why, but these days it seems that more and more products are coming unfinished on the market. The best thing you can see that with are MMOs. At the beginning most of them are great, but they have so many bugs and issues that needs to be fixed that some of them can have a big impact on the playing-experience. Therefore a lot of players are going elsewhere to other games and might come back later, when things get fixed. But so often I see these days that things will just be fixed half-way and in addition, just a ingame-shop is implemented where you can buy shiny things for your characters (that nobody will care anymore in 2-10 years).
Stadia is not different though, you'll get an unfinished product at the beginning which might turn into something very great, but this requires patience from everyone as well.
At least I still love the idea to be able to play on every device, which does make the service very flexible, then downside is that you need a very good internet connection, which not every region has at the moment, and you also definetely need a flatrate to play which is also not available everywhere (countrywise).
But let's see, in my opinion: The little Stadia tree at the moment still has the potential to grow to a Mammoth-Tree if Google takes care of it.
