Okay Google, here's what not to do

I'm writing this post as a legitimate, constructive criticism in the hopes that maybe someone from Google will see this as a part of future rollouts ( @GraceFromGoogle  )

1. Transparency - This is of the utmost importance. Do not hire a community manager if they are not allowed to manage the community. Google has been largely silent and at this point it's very clear that this is a corporate strategy rather than an individual one. Explain to us why it is so difficult to roll out codes in a timely fashion. Google literally invented Gmail (arguably the world's most popular email provider) so it's not hard to understand why people are astounded that they are incapable of sending out a simple code in the order in which it was received.

2. Provide the actual product - Stadia is software, not hardware. Everyone would be much less upset if you sent the codes and staggered the hardware release. After all, that's what the company itself promised during the AMAs. By staggering these codes at what seems like one per hour, AND not in order, you have effectively eliminated every possible advantage of being a "Founder.'" The other option would be to bundle the Stadia code to the hardware package - problem solved!

3. Empathize with your Founders - We are the people that will make or break your product. It's not hard to see that the service is universally panned across the media, so at this point a good word of mouth is what you need to spread the service. But that is increasingly difficult to do when you do not a.) Allow them to use the service, b.) Give them an estimate of WHEN they'll be able to use the service, and c.) Do not offer any sense of goodwill. Speaking of that good will, here are a couple low cost options: set up a workaround to allow us to reserve our names, provide us a free 3 months of pro service, or allow us to redeem a free code for a claw. All of these are minimal impact for launching a gaming offering.

I hope this helps someone at Google considering any new product launches. Just be nice to your customers - that's it, and it will go a LONG way.
