No Stadia on the new Chromecast? Major letdown

Google, you know I support you and all, but you just can't launch a new Chromecast with Google TV and no support for Stadia since day 1.

At best, it makes it look like the company isn't fully committed on its projects. At worst, it conveys the idea that the company has no vision and cannot coordinate products and activities.

I really hope that Stadia support comes sooner rather than later, I would've loved 2.1 HDMI support and Variable Refresh Rate. Keep it together, Google.

EDIT: Grace was quick to point out that Stadia support will come "first half of 2021". Hope this promise doesn't end up like family sharing in early 2020...

EDIT 2: No built-in ethernet port? You must be joking. You have to be.

EDIT 3: Chromecast Ultra is not available on the store anymore?! Gotta keep my fingers crossed that my unit doesn't die on me...

Hi @Michele

I understand your feeling. But it should be available in early 2021 :slightly_smiling_face:

I would like to have something together: Google TV + Stadia in a single Chromecast/Stadiacast

Ok, Ok.. no official Stadia support before next year... could be worse.

In the meanwhile, xbox game pass is already running on it :face_with_tears_of_joy:

Yeah this is definitely an bad launch for Chromecast. Mind blown with the business decision to release it.

@Michele In regards to "EDIT 2" you may purchase an adapter that has an ethernet port officially.

I know, @Deleted User.

This is why I specified the Chromecast doesn't have a built-in ethernet adapter. If you want people to jump in on Stadia, you have to remove every possible barrier. Otherwise they will try Stadia via wi-fi, complain that it "lagggggs", abandon it after the trial period is over and never come back.

If this is what Google wants...

@Michele There is a built-in ethernet socket though. I linked it. I think you're confused what "built-in" means.

Perhaps you meant to say "It doesn't come with a built in ethernet port"

@Deleted User you got exactly what I was awkwardly trying to say! Unfortunately I'm not that good in English and sometimes don't convey properly my ideas. Glad you got the message though! I edited the original post according to your suggestion :jack_o_lantern:
