No Real Game Cloud Saves

I played Orcs Must Die 3 on Endless Mode last night, and Stadia, even though it runs on a data center, really struggles to run higher waves where the enemies become stronger and faster the more you advance.

Worst of all, after Stadia completely chokes and the game becomes unplayable or completely freezes, it does NOT keep track of where you were or how far you got when Stadia petered out.

The game stopped responding around Wave 91 with over 30,000,000 points, and I received no credit for it. None. After restarting, I had 0 points as if I had never played that level. It had no record or game save.

Real Game Cloud Saves would keep track of where I am at every second and in case of a crash, it would know how far I got and give me credit for it.

Stadia, you're not Real Next Gen yet.

Not Happy.

Curious as to how next gen tech will stop this exact situation...

If a game crashes, it crashes. What you're proposing would simply drop you straight back in to where you were a few seconds before the crash.

This is on Robot. After initial release people were posting videos of OMD3 bugging out in later waves and Robot responded that they'd look in to it as it shouldn't be happening. Contact them.

What I'm explaining is something that all Stadia games should be required to have at some point.

I understand that almost all of today's games are ports or are based on current game development practices, but Stadia running on a datacenter could do so much better in that regard.

That would be true next generation game development which I don't know at what point Stadia would facilitate that.

Hi there! Thanks for posting this topic. The best way to get your ideas in front of the Stadia team is to submit this as feedback within the Stadia app. To find this, open the Stadia app on your mobile device, then tap your profile icon in the top-right corner of the screen. From there, navigate to the "Feedback" button below. Make sure to be as descriptive as possible. Thanks again!

I think what he means is using something like State Share to continually give you a rolling save state that is independent of the actual built-in game save system.  Think of how the retro Nintendo "classic" consoles have rewind functionality, I can see Stadia eventually doing something similar with all games allowing you to essentially roll back to a state prior to a crash.

This is very much a "future" thing, though.  I would still suggest you use the Feedback functionality in Stadia to ask for this though as I think it's actually a pretty good idea.
