Hi,
This is not about the outage. When I play a game everytime I press the A button on my xbox controller (using chrome on windows) I get this loud interface noise. It's already annoying when using it on the home screen, but it makes playing games unbearable. Any way to turn this sound off? Thank you.
Hi @Ridder,
Could you try a Chrome incognito window to see if the sound is gone?
Same result, the weird boopboop sound remains in incognito mode.
What kind of Xbox controller is it and are you using bluetooth/wired?
Wired Xbox Elite Controller.
Ok do you use a headset in your controller?
Not sure how to fix this though, but I read some topics about having sound issues with the Xbox controller with a headset attached.
No headset connected to it.
It's weird, for the rest it works fine and I'd expect a lot of people to report something like this, but haven't seen anyone run into it. It's driving me insane though as it completely breaks immersion in every game.
That it is breaks the immersion I understand...
Not sure how to fix this, do you have it with other lcoal games or only when using Stadia?
User error detected. Facepalm.
That question got me experimenting a bit more. Turns out it is caused by Discord of all things! My flight stick hotas has a mute button bound and somehow Discord confuses it with the xbox controller. Ugh... Well, problem sort of fixed then. I just have to play with Discord shut down.
Oh nice find!
Glad you got it resolved. You even got a nice workaround now. ![]()
