NFTs... Let's talk about it...

Hey guys and gals,

I'm curious what you all think. Wouldn't Google Stadia be the ultimate platform for NFT Gaming?

Turning gaming into career for everyone. Imagine your Achievement Score is just currency to buy legendary items from you favorite games.

READY PLAYER ONE: Phase one! It's just the beginning.

No reason to beat a game and never play it again as you can now monetize the items in game as an NFT or the scores you got from that game to buy other NFTs. Now games have even longer shelf lives.

Keeps on the platform longer and we can monetize our favorite hobby. We all win! Lol One can dream... Alright, back to reality lol

What do y'all think?

Why does this need to be NFT?

NFT would just be a place holder name for an item you buy in game that can be sold to someone else for them to use in their game. It's a brilliant idea that will come to gaming no doubt. It's innovation.

Also stadia could call it whatever they want really. We already pay for dlc why not enable us to trade the dlc like as if it was a physical object in the real world. More freedom baby.

I think turning all dlc into NFT would be awesome because then you'd actually truly own what you buy online.  I see no downsides.

@Zilver You don't really need NFTs to transfer DLCs though. Companies just need to enable transfer of ownership of DLCs from one user to another There's a reason why companies don't do it, and it's because they get nothing out of it. They'd rather have everyone purchase from them directly.

In my own personal opinion, I really hope NFT never comes to Stadia. There can be arguments made from both side about having NFT in video games, but at the end of the day it feels like there are just more downsides.

Although, what NFT is meant to be, to transfer digital assets from one owner to the other has been around for quite a while. Star Citizen have been selling digital ships for hundred of dollars for each ship in limited quantity, and people are buying them like crazy. And this is supposedly for a game that's still in alpha for more than 10+ years (which is crazy, unreal, and a completely separate topic). They don't use NFT to do that.

I don't know, maybe I'm just old school.
