Hi Grace, I won't speak for OP but for me the way the thread calls RSX's comment the "best response" makes it seem as though it is valid answer when it is not.
I appreciate volunteers trying to help but OP and others (myself included) have a valid complaint about Stadia's handling of roster updates for 2k21 and this seems like more deflection and disregard.
The bottom line is 2k21 rosters are updated daily on non-Stadia platforms and haven't been updated on Stadia for over a month and we deserve a real answer.

I’ve sent a ticket about 2 day ago, so waiting on that. No 2k is rolling updates after 24 hour news update of real NBA players. Console old gen and next gen have roster updates, also PC. It’s been a week now and we still have the entire lakers roster not changed. Stadia updates is always last one but never a week late. I’ll wait another week and send a a ticket also update post here, but it’s very messed up console and PC got the roster updates. NBA free agency has been over and the preseason is about to start in two weeks 🤷🏻

So if you work for google or who ever how about you report it too thank you I paid full price for a game and just because 300 people bought the game it’s not cool that the devs ditched the game in just 5 months because of next gen

New to this game and I'm surprised the rosters are not updated. I tried the user created but it had some new players but some old players (players no longer on my team).

NBA2K21 support is ridiculous!!! We still have not have a roster update since the NBA draft which is a shame. All 2K cares about is Money and not customer satisfaction!!! Play Now mode is not there focus but MyTeam and My Player which is where they make money. I had NBA2K21 since day 1 and still no love.

I just submitted a request to 2k support as well. This is very frustrating. The season has started and we still don't have the correct rosters. Well, it looks like 2k Customer Care can't help at all. This is the response I got back from them: "An apology, but for the moment, here in Customer Care, we don't have any information about any plans on roster updates for the Stadia platform. Since the development team can't review suggestions sent through customer support, we've created the NBA 2K Forums to provide your feedback. I kindly suggest you share your insights there. This way, you can also talk about your feedback with others in our community, as well."
So I guess we need to go complain on their forums instead.

I own the game myself and I am having the same issues.
The problem is it is not up to Stadia to get the rosters updated. 2k should give the Stadia version to correct roster update.
If this problem happend on a PlayStation would you also expect that Sony is going to fix this? Again 2k should fix it.
It is not fair how 2k is treating the Stadia platform with NBA2k.
Because of that reason the only thing to do is complain at 2k. I am also not happy about how things are going, I also paid full price for this game. ![]()
If Sony sold me a game that was incomplete, and that problem only existed on the PSX, I would expect them to do more than just say, "sorry not our problem". Stadia is the retailer in this situation and they owe their customers more.
I'm not letting 2k off the hook but I think it would be a better look if Stadia took the game down and issued refunds to folks that were waiting for updates in good faith.
This is exactly my situation. I spent way too long playing 2k20 last year. I hopped on 2k21 right when it dropped on stadia, at full price. I never really did much with it, kind of waiting for the '21 season to begin, which it has. I started to check back in on my NBA 2k21.
Now, when I go to try to start a season with the current rosters, the option is greyed out and says unavailable as if the season hasn't started. I wondered if there was something wrong with my local copy and it wasn't getting updated (maybe cached? it says latest update in Sept 2020?) so I contacted Stadia support. Stadia support says- not our problem, talk to 2k. /shrug.
It's pretty frustrating to hop on these supposed big name titles early at full price. Especially to later discover these games ended up either completed comped or heavily discounted on the pro list. I totally get the business strategy here- cost differentiation so you get a few folks who pay a bunch up front before discounting it so the masses can get it, but the Stadia implementation of this practice sucks for the recipient. It feels like the game you spent $60 on is $10 the next week. I sort of exaggerate, but so far, this feels like a pretty bad version for the customer.
There has to be a better way... Especially when there's essentially a stalemate with the developer/producer of the game. IMO- the biggest problem here is that nobody has ANY information and no-one is taking any sort of responsibility for solving that problem. While none of us are happy to wait, having a definitive update timeline/strategy would at least let us understand if we should keep holding out for an update or if we're better off finding an Xbox/PS.

I have an issue when gamers act like they work for stadia I’m sorry I’m trying to get use to devs treating stadia like an afterthought because it’s less than 20k people on the game. It’s super frustrating and the last thing I want to see is someone who isn’t again is NOT an employee to “ go ask the devs “ a lot of people in this community need to stop acting like this is a cult and protecting stadia. Sorry 🤷🏻

8 months later and worse part NBA 2k22 isn’t coming to stadia like come on grace at some point paying customers need answers and it’s frustrating.
