Well I just hope they can improve on it within the next few months.
Some items that I've picked up this week to improve the Chrome experience include:
1. Reset Chrome flags - go to the URL chrome://flags , select "Reset all to default", restart Chrome and try again.
2. Run Chrome and use an Incognito window and see if that helps, disable any extensions that might have been added.
3. Reduce refresh rate/polling rate on mouse pointer (usually a feature on some mouse drivers).
4. Access Chrome flags and enable the feature "Enables pointer lock options".
5. On Windows 8 run Chrome in Windows 7 compatibility mode.
These are some of the suggestions that I've seen that have addressed the issue for some users. Can't hurt to give them a try and see if it resolves any of your issues.
Hope this helps.
Well, google does point out that recommended setup is to use ethernet.
I to was playing destiny wireless and performance was meh, but when I switched to ethernet it was better.
To me I dont think the current Wifi standard of AC or wifi 5 isnt good enough. It has inherent issues with dropped frames and latency in the 100ms+ by default.
The next wifi 6 or AX standard is suppose to fix that. Google cant do anything about it till it becomes adopted by manufacturers like killer networks, intel, marvel, and realtek.
The traffic for controller is fine but the wifi on the chromecast is what might be causing your delay. Test it and see if it fixes it.
What kind of network equipment are you using? Standard modem/router? Asus? Netgear?
Maybe we can help with some settings on that end too ![]()
Might be your setup.
I'm pretty sensitive to lag, and I'm happy with the performance.
I'm also on wifi, but it's AC3500, on a 600mbps plan.
