Hi there, im having an issue that appear from one day to another, and it appear to some people had the same problem and finally get throught. Not in my case.
The issue
- When i start any game a popup appears that says that mouse is not currently capture, so any key or mouse is not working in game but the stadia interfase, like sidebars, can be showed and cliceables
Some additional info:
- Pro and Ubisoft Plan
- Using stadia from chrome at a windows 11 laptop with a wierless mouse
- I have been using it arround 3 weeks without any particular issue at 720p/1080p. (only blurry image, not in a constant way)
- I have a 50mb internet plan and to be upgraded to 100mb, because 1080p, and of course 4k, is tottaly blurry
- I use a VPN (GameEnable)
- Works normal with the xbox controller and in the android app
What i tried
- Other browsers like Edge, Firefox, Brave, Canary and Chronium
- Installing Stadia app (PWA/PWD)
- Olders versions of Chronium that were recommended in one of the older post in this community
- Other laptops, networks and VPNs
- Wired mouse and keyboard
- Disabled/Enabled Pointer presition, Hardware acceleration
- Disabled/Enabled windows Firewall
- More games
- Follow the recommendations about start a game, press esc, and click back to game
- Found this thread about ports and upgrade internet plan https://twitter.com/googlestadia/status/1336753432917467136?lang=es, my plan will be upgraded in one more week so i dont know if could be related.

Right now its been 10 days of searching and tries without any progress...

Finally i got working again with GameEnable VPN, unfourtunly customer support didnt contact me in all this days, luck me i join the discord server were other users were experience the same issue and the recomendation were resinstall a previus version of the gameenable extension.
In the meantime, as i said previusly, i tried many vpns free and paid, and in all of them i got stuck in the same point, i dont know why this is happing or why with a previus version of the extension works fine.
If anyone have the same issue, i hope it find this thread. Thanks to all the replys.
@lordkamina Thanks so much for providing the information with your questions, as it helps greatly in assisting. I do have a follow up question to clarify:
You mentioned that you've tried VPNs. Do you always use VPN while using Stadia? Have you tried using Stadia without VPN? It's something that other users have in common with similar issue is that they were on VPN, but it was resolved after they turn off VPN.

Why cannot use without VPN? Are you in a country with Stadia available?

@lordkamina Unfortunately unless you're using Stadia in a country where it has official presence, performance isn't guaranteed and some issues are to be expected, if it even works at all. Let's hope Stadia will launch in more countries in the future.

I do not know if it realy works but I read somewhere you can connect to the game, close the browser, disable the vpn and then start the game again without vpn.
Maybe worth a try, maybe wont work at all and maybe it is not even related to your problem lol.
Hi @Crom , yeap did that too, with same result ...
That happens to me when I leave the PC with the game unattended (the children.....) and the session closes alone, staying stadia in the menu or survey. When entering again it does not detect keyboard and mouse, it is as easy as closing the PWA and reopening it and it works again, I don't know why it happens but that's how I solve it (it's so fast that stadia doesn't even get you out of the game even if you close the PWA)
That's an interesting find @gonso . Which game were you playing when it happens? Did you use VPN? I might try to replicate it.

in the meantime im expecting a response for the GameEnable VPN support, yesterday i tried with the ExpressVPN and same result, and in my case the using it to play was terrible, tottaly blurry at 720p and very slow internet, i have 50mb and with the vpn enabled goes to 30mb

I am afraid using a VPN is not supported.
Its pretty hard to get decent VPN which should be good enough for a Cloud gaming service.
But one thing you could try is finding a VPN that supports the Wireguard VPN. This could be a little bit better suited for this. I use PIA (private internet access) which supports OpenVPN and WireGuard. Maybe worth a shot. ![]()
Thanks for the recommendation, i have expressvpn and it says that support Wireguard (https://www.expressvpn.com/blog/expressvpn-wireguard-update/), i will try PIA and Ghost to see if anything chage. Also tried with other free vpns without luck

Did you enable Wireguard?
By default it uses OpenVPN. You can change this within the settings.
