I tried every wired headset I have at home, Bose (Bluetooth connect with jack included) , Apple, Aukey etc...but the mic simply doesn't wotks. I can hear but can not speak. The fun things is that when I start to game (Destiny 2) stadia said "mic active"
It works on Chrome but don't work on Chromecast Ultra
Why?
Can you help me?
@Ivan No I don't talk about ps party but the game voice chat from D2.
Anyway, I Solved, it was a setting in Stadia privacy
@Pippen I've heard this specific issue before with Destiny 2. Just want to check, I'm assuming you're using Stadia controller? Are you using USB C headset or the regular audio aux plug?
@Pippen When you were talking, were you talking to another player that's also using Stadia, or were you trying to talk someone on your fireteam through in-game voice? Were you able to others talking?
@Ivan I'm talking in the chat game... with fireteam, player from ps, pc, xbox and stadia too
Hi @Pippen,
Does your computer that you play stadia from have a microphone built in? I ask because chrome will use what it thinks is available and report off of that.
One bit of information that you might like to know is the built in microphone on the controller is disabled unless you press the google assistant button while using a Chromecast. The microphone was made to work exclusively with google assistant.
@ShadowKnight you right! I double check, Chrome use internal mic or the mic in the headset connected wired to the Mac, not that on stadia controller
@Pippen Just trying to understand your response, were you able to get it to work?
I have to be honest, I can never get the Destiny 2 in game voice to work, and I know others have similar experience. Almost nobody I know use the in game voice because it's very rare to hear others that enable the function while match making, and whenever we tried, there's always issues (not just with Stadia version)
If you're playing with friends or others that you know, I suggest using a 3rd party tool like Discord for voice since it works so much better. If you're playing with other Stadia players, then you can also use the voice chat function from Stadia itself.
Hi @Pippen
I had some audio issues with my Stadia controller when it was connected to a 5GHz WiFi. Is it possible to try to connect it to a 2.4GHz WiFi to see if this helps? ![]()
@Ivan NO, it doesn't work. In D2 it's usual play a raid for example with no friends but find players with companion app. The ps4 game voice chat is a "prassi" and it works perfect, the problem is Stadia on Chromecast Ultra and Stadia controller.
@Pippen When you use voice chat in PS4, that's from the voice system in PS4 right? Not from in-game. In this case you can try to use the Stadia voice chat to play with other Stadia players.
@AndroiFy tagging you just in case you have some insights. I feel like I'm missing something here.

@Pippen Yes, in this case you're using Stadia voice chat right? In any chase, glad you got it solved and thanks for reporting back.
