Metro Exodus is to dark on CCU/TV (helping steps)

Jump to Best Response

Metro Exodus is a beautiful game, especially on the Chromecast. But unfortunately it was much too dark in dark areas during the day and at night, sometimes I couldn't see anything or always had to use the night vision device. People playing on the xbox x experienced the same problem back in the day (probably related to the HDR). Here are a few universal manual TV settings that helped me if gamemode doesn't work.
Color: 50%
Backlight: 100%
Brightness: 50%
Contrast: 100%
Sharpness: 0 - 50% depending on the TV. For me its 50%.
Color mode (G: R): 50% or middle.
In the section advanced settings, turn everything off, EXCEPT
Dynamic contrast, set that to middle or high. (helps alot)

Last advice, if the steps above doesn't help: Turn HDR off in the stadia app on your phone.

" Make sure you can just see the right icons and the right one "barely visible" and you "should" be good."

@Sho

Oh thank you, i totally forget to mention that. I can't see the left picture for this adjustment, it was do to the gamma issues on TV's which can caused by some TV's and HDR problems, especially with metro exodus. Not everyone has these problems but when i search for it, many people have this problem.

This is were my steps above comes in handy! :thumbs_up:

@ChronosP I'm not having to many issues, I'd say adjust your TV setting first, then perhaps go in game settings and actually tinker with the brightness/gamma settings (where u slide to see the icon). Make sure you can just see the right icons and the right one "barely visible" and you "should" be good.

As for the comments on Xbox one, I have no idea, as this is my first time playing metro Exodus (or any) but it looks/works fine on my Chromecast. Admittedly, when I played it on my pixel 4 xl I was having "dark" issues but that's because I had the adjustable BG light on. After I fixed that, then messed with that in game Gama/brightness setting slider thingy, I was good to go.

Dunno if any of this will help but hope u get it to work:thumbs_up:
