HI all
I suspect that all is lost but I'm unable to continue with Mafia III. The game loads and I can select continue but the load just goes around and around in a loop. I have literally spend days playing this game and I'm so near to completion that this bug has really annoyed me. I streamed the issue to YouTube which you can see here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NiX51B6IK-A
Sometimes I can hear the game and sometime the game springs to life at the exact moment I die, which restarts the whole cycle so there is a little hope.
Stadia/Google support said I should raise the issue with Hanger18, like they can do anything, and basically said the problem is nothing to do with them. Can you imagine going to see a film at the cinema and it quits 10 mins from the end, you complain to the cinema and they say you need to speak with Disney as it is their fault. This is exactly what Google have done. This is a streamed game from their service but any issues that are not to do with streaming they wash their hand of.
As I said i guess I'm lost here and should mark this down to experience but I'm shocked that this is allowed and this buggy game is still available. It's incidents like this which make me think is Stadia worth the time and effort. I used to love it and generally things are great but this game and the attitude of Google has really soured the experience.
Hi @DaHilster - As @Ivan states, there have been a few reports here on Stadia about this glitch. When I reached out to 2K about it, they said they were aware and working on a fix but that there was no timeline that they could provide.
If it gets patched, I'll make sure to update this post.
Hi @DaHilster,
From what I see in your video it seems like a game checkpoint bug. The game did a checkpoint just as you died and when it goes to reload you to your last checkpoint. The game puts you right back to your checkpoint which is the moment you died.
Depending on how far you are into the game you could possibly try starting a new save and when you get close to this point again remember what you did last time and do something different
Hiya
Unfortunately I've almost completed this game so a restart would be another 60+ hours to get back to where I am now. The game is OK but this version on the Stadia is a buggy mess. I've been able to deal with gfx glitches, although frustrating, by restarting the game. This is by far the worst and bug filled game on the stadia platform that I've played so far, really spoils the experience. Looks like Stadia is on the way out anyway so time to move on to pastures new.
Tried again and I could hear the scene being played out but the loading screen still doing its thing. I've not lost my save and the checkpoint appears to start at the beginning of the save from what I can hear, its just not playable
@DaHilster So it sounds like there might be some issue from the server side (we don't know for sure though). Usually if it's PC/Console I would've rebooted my computer/console but obviously we can't do that with Stadia. I see you already tried going through support, so in this case I'd suggest wait for a bit and see if the problem resolves. Maybe they do system maintenance regularly.
I did do a quick search and there are a few bugs reported for the Stadia version that went back as far as October 2021, so it might just be that it's not a very good port. Please make sure to submit feedback to the Stadia team and also the developer to make sure the issue is known.

As you can see searching trough the Forums, that Issues exists at least since October 2021. Me and many others filed a Complaint to 2k. Even stadia support was contacted:

It really seems that no one cares.
To me 2K-Support said it's on Stadias site to fix that. I quote: "We do not have any troubleshooting for Stadia in specific[...]Please also consider reaching out to Google Support, as they are much more qualified in assisting you with this issue."
So there will NEVER be a Fix for that! Yay.
