I have a problem with spoken audio in watch dogs. I did the first 4 hours of the game and everything was ok but yesterday the speech could not be heard anymore. I also tried to change the language but nothing ... For example when the character talks on the phone, I don't hear anything. The game audio is ok, environment, voices, noises ... only the speech is not heard. But then again everything was ok before. can you help me? Watch Dogs on STADIA.
Update: Hi everyone, glad to hear that everything is back to normal. Please let us know if the audio issues persists on your end.
--------------
Hi everyone, thanks for posting in the Stadia Community Forum. We're still actively working with our partners to identify a long term fix for this issue. I'll be sure to keep you all updated with the latest details.
It seems this may have been fixed. It's working for me at the moment, anyway.
I have exactly the same issue. On my chromecast or in chrome browser. It makes the game very hollow to play. Stadia support please respond!
I have contacted the stadia support and created a support case, i suggest you do the same as if it is affecting more people the more tickets they have the more likely there can be some action taken by Stadia support.
Link to create support case?
I just submitted the ticket and the agent advised me to contact the ubisoft support saying it is not an issue from stadia...
@Nico9459 What language is the audio thet you're trying to play with. English?
Issue for sure with english and italian. Other languages i don't konw...
As a guide, you can see the scale of this issue. Is there nothing that Stadia can do to their paying customers? I mean more than sending us all to ubisof that just sends us back. What if this happens to other title that thousands of people purchased? This is creating a very bad precedent for the future of the stadia support and customer relationship....
I have the same issue, and I've tried English and German. It's like someone accidentally deleted some audio assets from the servers.
We know Stadia is constantly doing some updates for the better, but it seems that some audio api update has changed and the sound mixing of surround enabled games from Ubisoft are broken. So either Stadia needs to roll back some update or provide Ubisoft with the new API so they can push update to their games - such as Watch dogs.. I suggest you too create a support case with Stadia support (link in one of my previous responses) and tweet as well to both stadia and Ubisoft
I mean there are not that many AAA games on Stadia so I would expect this issue to be given a bit more attention.... @StadiaTeam
That looks at least like a form of acknowledgement of the issue.
In your opinion we could ask refund if the issue continues for a indefinite time?
Well it is unlikely to get a refund, I am not sure what is Stadia policy on refunds and as I personally have over 18h in the game that will not fly I am afraid. I would assume to fix is the way to go as this may affect other titles from ubisoft or other devs potentially.
So pushing for support is the route I will try to take.
Hey all, thank you for surfacing this issue. We are currently investigating. I will report back when I know more. Thank you for your patience!
Same issue for me too.
Contacted Stadia support and they said submit ticket with Ubisoft. Stadia rep said we have to wait for a patch from Ubisoft. Tried on Chrome desktop and Chromebook and same issue. The game is not playable any longer. It was working fine until a couple of days ago.
This will be a deal breaker for me if they don't fix this issue. Yes I bought a lot of games but it was free money that I used to buy. I will be more than happy tp return to Xbox.
@StadiaTeam @StadiaTeam at least respond for heavens sake, this is not a single user issue, this is an issue that is affecting a LOT of paying customers!
I have exact same issue with playing Watchdogs. Voice was working fine several days ago and all of a sudden I am not hearing the voice actors...
I'm glad I'm not alone.
Just contacted Stadia. They can't issue refunds if the game was purchased over 14 days ago.
They told me to contact Ubisoft.
This is getting ridiculous, this is not a cheap game, and it also shows a very bad start of the relationship between @StadiaTeam and their customers. What if issue like this happens with a new title? Are all customers going to be sent to the developers that will then send them back to Stadia? This is very unprofessional and silly....
I absolutely agree!
I thought that Stadia team would help us, their customers, out. It is in their best interest.
Instead they send us to publisher.
It's as if I bought a car and transmission broke. I would take it to the dealer, and they would tell me: go to the transmission manufacturer... WTF?!
Anyway, I contacted Ubisoft and few minutes later I get a link from them for troubleshooting internet connection for Stadia. The standard link from the Stadia website... So I sent them this clip from my game: https://stadia.google.com/capture/03a097d0-2855-432e-92e7-138ecf1ac573 that clearly shows the issue.
I did not hear back from them... This is BS...
@StadiaTeam I’ve been waiting for my Watch dogs Complete edition Code From my watch dogs legion season pass, since two Weeks now and after i finally got it i can’t play the game because literally there’s no Voice Audio in it, this is a very very bad Experience for me and it will be my last purchase in Stadia
Same issue here. English and German voice audio don't work. Purchased the game like half an hour ago, and know I'm learning the problem is known for a few days. But they're selling the stuff anyways.... That's not okay...
Update (kind of): I contacted Ubisoft. It seems like their customer service have no idea how Stadia works. This is their response:
"
Thank you for contacting Ubisoft Customer Support again. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. It sounds like Stadia didn't finish downloading all relevant language packs and game files which provide sound and subtitles. While using your Stadia, please go to the launcher you use to play Assassin's Creed Valhalla and select options to download game files. (I am not sure of your individual set up.)
If you have Ubisoft Connect installed also, go to Properties;
- In the Language Version section, select English;
- Start the game and the game should automatically download any missing language packs.
Please let us know if you have any further issues.
"
REALLY?! Select download game files for Valhalla? How, exactly? 1st, I don't have that game. 2nd, what does it have to do with Watchdogs? 3rd, why the hell am I the one trying to troubleshoot this common issue instead of Ubisoft and Stadia? WTF?! Getting more and more frustrated with this.
I'm gonna try wasting my time and contacting Google again, and see what they say to what Ubisoft said...
Yeah, what's with this weird Ubisoft support?
They answered me with a link to a reddit post where »players reported that Stadia support was able to help them out.« But the linked reddit post is saying exactly the opposite.
As if they want to gaslight us...
Final update: Ubisoft bluntly said that they are not able to help me and to have a nice day.
I went back to Google with that chat transcript and all the Google can do is issue me a refund.
Interestingly, the game is still available to purchase. And even Google rep said that if I buy it again it will most likely have the same issue.
I wonder is it just a group of people having this issue or is it everyone? If it's everyone, why is Google still selling this broken product, and if it's just us, what makes us so special?
