Hey everyone,
Before I start I would like to say that I do love Stadia. I don't understand why so much medias & gamers does not share my opinion.
But I'm getting nervous about Stadia's future. For real. I am only reading bad news about Stadia on the internet. I think I didn't read any good news about Stadia from the beginning. Both in my native language and in english.
I did enjoy playing Stadia but many medias says that Stadia will die in a few month - well, I think they are probably wrong, at least I hope so. The only bad thing about Stadia is it's support (it wasn't true at the beginning of Stadia). Does not even know what ports Stadia use, does not even know how decoding time works, what's VP9, etc. It's true, the community is way more competent than the Stadia Support atm.
But when I saw the number of project that didn't work for Google (https://killedbygoogle.com/), I'll be honest, I'm now afraid to invest in Stadia. Buying games, and even to continue my Stadia Pro Subscription. And I'm also afraid that this kind of feeling will not help Stadia. And if I did feel that, I think others also do.
Also, what will happen to my games if Stadia really die ?
I need to know your opinion ! I need to trust Stadia again !
Again, I'm not trying to flame, or trying to troll. I'm sad for Stadia. Maybe everything is bull**bleep** and medias only doesn't want Stadia to exist.
I get your feeling, I started to wonder how it was back in 2001 when the original xbox was released. I did find some similarities between that launch (November 15th, 2001) and stadia's launch. One of the similarities was media outlets not trusting the new name in the console gaming industry for a few years.
Basically only time will tell, and enjoy playing on Stadia

I am just a volunteer here on the forums
I think we will be fine.
As a cloud service it still ahead of Gforce now and Xbox cloud on the technical front.
Please note that the website killedbygoogle is not realistic at all things. There things that are "killed" by integrating it in a other service. You can also make a huge list for all "killed" Microsoft products.
Thing is they are tech companies that try things and keep the things that work. That could by keep using it (Gmail etc) or by merging things (hangouts) into other services (gsuite, meet).
Also, Killed by Microsoft exists and their list is actually longer than Googles. Many large companies close down projects, however, there's very little sign that anything like this will happen with Stadia especially given the large market for cloud gaming and the industry starting to recognise the benefits of cloud gaming ![]()
Honestly there is nothing to worry about
You know allot off that stuff on that list was rebranded into new projects other stuff was far too innovative and things like google fibre was only started to kick big isps up there arse to upgrade the infrastructure which worked
It is a narrative that Google does need to work to get ahead of. I've been with Stadia from the beginning and many of Google's projects even longer, you need a bit of a rough skin and realistic expectations for the most part. All the doom and gloom isn't anything new; the truth is that Stadia's tech works and works really well, that is not going to get "shut down" after all of their research and development to make it work so well. The business side of things is certainly the larger question mark but when they put public information out there that states "investing in Stadia's future" and that gets twisted into "the writing's on the wall" well...this is what they need to work on.
Welp, that didn't age well.
Welp, that post didn't age well.
