Everytime I bring up Stadia to my friends and family (Mostly Xbox users) They say pretty much what every reviewer says. Just a bunch of misinformed arguments. It seems like owning a console is more of a status symbol than anything. When I go over to their homes I take my stadia controllers and my pixelbook and we play outcasters and they have fun. But then the topic of gaming on stadia comes up and they still say bad things about it. I guess I need new friends because I enjoy stadia and its not going anywhere LOL
Keep up the good work Google and Stadia Team!

Time is on your side! When even the new consoles start streaming games, because the hardware is getting old, they may get it...
But I realized the same: It's not about arguments it's more like sticking to your Team. ![]()
I got my brother converted over because he wanted to play Cyberpunk, So I got him for Christmas a Giftcard so he could buy Cyberpunk and get the CCU/Stadia controller bundle. First thing he said, as a PS4 and Xbox player is how insanely comfortable the Stadia Controller is and how awesome it was to jump right in. Now my Brother in law, Brother, Son, and myself all have Stadia and everyone loves it. So its just a matter of finding ways to get them to use it and decide for themselves.
Thanks for the post @JZpixels!
P.S. I think this a great post that should be seen by the general Stadia Community, so I'll be moving it out to the public forum.
That sucks, because I’ve been trying to do the same lol. I even offered a chromecast and stadia control to one of my friends. He said wellllllll, then changed the subject.
So good news everyone! I convinced my diehard xbox nephews to try Stadia. I was like "hey we should all play destiny 2 on stadia, it's free all u need is a free stadia account. U guys can just use your xbox controllers. Oh and I can send u guys two months free pro trial." They tried it and liked it! Now one bought the premier bundle. I gave two my extra stadia controllers. Now we are going to have a 2k21 tournament since 2k is free right now! All i can say is don't give up!!
Great work ![]()
Great work! That always seems to be the challenge. Whenever I’ve got someone to try Stadia they have loved it...but getting people to try can be difficult. I’m personally convinced that over time Stadia will continue to grow, it’s a great platform!
"Converting" people to use Stadia (or even try it) can be a little challenging. Try to keep in mind that cloud gaming is still relatively new and the criticisms are going to be weighed heavily against it. Owning a console or a gaming PC is just the expected "norm" when it comes to gaming. Having the ability to play AAA games on practically anything with a browser is such a new concept that it will take time for the market to adapt.
Think of it this way: those friends who primarily play on Xbox will likely experience cloud gaming through Xbox Game Pass eventually. It may not fully convert them to Stadia, but it will show that cloud gaming isn't something that's as bad as many misinformed/judgmental reviewers tend to make it out to be. ![]()
lol, I don't think you need to lose friends over this. Just move on from trying to suck people into your niche. They want to continue playing Xbox or whatever, then let them. You want to use Stadia, then do it. Every once in a while you can get together to play Outcasters, what's the problem?
I was able to convince my wife and kids at first. We are all Linux users so it was easy yes for us so that we could play games like Destiny 2 which were/is unplayable at the time. Then I convinced 7 of my closest friends to try it. Out of those 7 only 2 of them stayed on Pro the rest just buy the games they wanted and we run those. All of my wife's siblings are on it and they play all the time. We have a good circle of about 9 to 17 on regularly which is great. We only had like about 4 to 5 on Steam and a few on GOG.
My siblings will be checking it out this coming weekend as they just got their gamepads and their gaming rooms/desk setup. They bought a couple of the sales games but have not tried the games out yet due to family and work life.
Perhaps because we are an older crowd we are around less negative ppl bad mouthing the system. Most ppl are just waiting for X game to hit and that's about the extent to which ppl groan about it.
When Google stays as silent as they are and are ignoring everyone's request about games and features, the competition will definitely walk away.
Just take a look at Gamepass:
- Free EA Play
- All Bethesda Games
And I wouldn't be suprised if they work something out with Ubisoft as well in the end.
And yes, I know, with Gamepass they can remove games etc etc, but no one cares! They just want to stream their favorite games and right now, Stadia is starting to look more Indie than the Switch.
Xbox is gearing up big time to become the preferred streaming platform and Google is just doing This Week on Stadia with some BS stuff in it.
I received a newsletter from Playstation this week to promote their Playstation Now service. I know everyone says its a bad service, but at least they want to promote it a bit.
I have to be real here: I am not mentioning Stadia anymore, since I just don't see the benefits anymore. Stadia Team is definitely not helping out here. I am not even buying any games anymore because I just don't know if the platform will exist in 2022. And I hate to think so, cause I am a founder since Nov 21 2019 and played almost only Stadia since then. (Stellaris on PS4 unfortunately).
The TWoS of today?
- Resident Evil Village and the controller deal (which will probably be claimed by a lot of Stadia-Players) - Old news
- Resident Evil 7 on Pro for April - Old news
- Some other Indie games on Pro - who cares
- Some Discounts.- who cares, you can already see in the app.
- No information about the long overdue app redesign
- No information about search
- No information about working with bigger studios (where are the final two EA games?)
- No information about the current succes or downfall of Ubisoft+ and if it will ever come to Europe
- No information about Tandem Mode supporting racing wheels
- No information about new countries
- No information about what else we can ever expect from the platform.
Really, this streaming platform is small and will stay small forever. You know why? To grow they will need money and a big company like Alphabet/Google will only give more budget when targets are met. And to be honest I doubt they have met those targets, which could also explain the closing of SG&E. (Which is also hilarious btw)
I think there are low barrier to entry ways to get people to try Stadia, such as try pro for a month. Also maybe have them try Ubisoft’s subscription service and use it with Stadia.
UPDATE: We all play uno on Stadia LOL
it is a start!
Enjoy UNO. ![]()
The lack of news and progress in terms of Stadia's availability in other countries frustrates me to no end.
Think about it: You have a pc, you have the necessary internet speed (at least 10mbps), and yet you just wait for them to arrive someday for years, only to get not one good answer at all. I mean, not even a roadmap?
Stadia is an experience one has to live to understand. It is perfect for me, as it is a true gaming console without many of the constraints the “Big three” offer. While I understand many people who doubt the effectiveness of the Stadia platform due to bad critics, I love it.
I know it is hard to convince people to play on Stadia, as many love to have a physical console, but it is the most affordable way to play the newest games!
Stadia just needs to get some more big games. For a lot of people like me who love to play call of duty also battlefield its hard to move 100% over to stadia. If google can get all 3rd party games people would start coming over real fast trust me.
Stadia is a Alpha (In Best Case) -very small Game Libary / Old Graphic(Low FPS and most games has no 4k) and a fameless Controller (I love the Handling, but the ps5 Controller is far better) - Why should anyone play stadia? It had some good things, my main Plattform is still the PC and xbox series x - Some offers are good, and i like to have it at my guest room^^
But to be fair, there is no reason to play with stadia
I disagree, if it wasnt for Stadia, I wouldnt be playing video games right now. there is plenty of games to keep me entertained. I dont want to shell out hundreds of dollars to play the latest games. I just bought my chromecast with google tv and love it.
I guess we are the same type of gamer. I love the Stadia games and I don’t understand those who say that graphics are bad. On the contrary, they are great if you have a 30 mbps + internet connection.
Stadia is not for hardcore gamers who have a gaming PC or who buy PS5s or Xbox Series Xes at an inflated price. It is for occasional or usual gamers who want an affordable option to play the latest A+++ games.
The Chromecast + Google TV dongle just made the experience better!
