I played the free trial for about 5 minutes on my phone and wanted to try it the next day on Chromecast. Problem is, I can not start the game anymore because allegedly I played the full 120 min. How can that be? I really wanted to try the game before buying...
Cheers!
Hi @strudl
I am afraid that if you start the game the timer starts and doesn't stop if you stop playing.
So the timer continues to go on even when you are not playing. Sorry I don't have better news.
You can always try the game under a different Google account. ![]()
@strudl So basically when you start a timed game trial, the timer will not be stopped if you pause/exit the game. This is informed after launching the game, and you can find the info from the menu. I know it's not ideal since the information is not being available before you start the timed trial (since some people won't have the full time period when they start the game).
I highly suggest submitting feedback through the Stadia app (I already did, since I faced the same issue) to make sure the team is aware of it. The more people requesting this, the better chance the team can act on it.

Good point, I'll check it out with my other account. But I have to try if it's possible to play on chromecast with my non-stadia account...thanks!
@strudl You will need to sign up for Stadia first on your other account, but you should be able to play on Chromecast since it doesn't require Pro subscription. You do have the option for the 1 month free trial if you open a new account, but you can also bypass that by claiming one of the free to play games like Destiny 2
https://stadia.google.com/games/destiny-2
But yeah, always a good idea to make sure your other account works with Chromecast before launching the game so you don't lose time.

Ah, I didn't read the info, just wanted to do a quick test of the touch control...thanks!
I will give feedback through the app!
@strudl Yeah the info is not exactly noticeable (you won't see it unless you open the Stadia menu during the game). Thanks for sending feedback! You're actually not the first person bringing this up today (the other person was for World War Z trial), so hopefully the Stadia team takes notice and incorporate a warning BEFORE starting a timed trial game.
