How to get local coop on darksiders?

Jump to Best Response

New ro stadia but how on earth do I get local coop to work on Darksiders as I've now been trying for about an hour!?

Both controllers have permanent white glow which suggests both controllers are okay and I can play single player, but coop grates out?

Oh c'mon, Guys!?  Really???   It does offer local co-op, but it's a tad funky to kick off.  Let's see if remember. Been playing Borderlands 3 lately, mainly. Head to stone and summon them there, after both controllers are linked.  Dissapointing part to me was that local co-op doesn't load the 2nd player as a an actual profile, but as a guest only.

Pretty sure the only game that has local co-op right now is Ghost Recon through the Stream Connect feature. That's the only one I've heard of. They said local and couch co-op is coming at some point for any games that will support it, but it's not available yet.

This is not accurate. There's just dance which has local coop, Darksiders does but like prior user said, you need to summon 2nd player from the stone. NBA has local coop. Ghost recon has local coop.

@steessex @Xevioso is right Ghost Recon was the first and so far only game with local coop.

I collect Kudos for living.

How do I give negative kudos to North and X?  That's the real question, lol.

@steessex Since @Stoked4Good wants to deduct kudos from me, and since I never played Darksiders I figured I will eat my words from earlier (Sorry that's the best I can do). Actually, I prob can delete my post, but that would be acting like I never said anything which is a jerk move.

I offered an opinion based on what I could find. I still don't think inviting someone who can only play as a guest is true local coop, but it's not NOTHING, so I guess it counts.

I do stand by what I said, that it's based on the game you're playing. You can link up to 4 controllers locally according to Google. But multiplayer, local/couch-based co-op depends on the title you're playing.

"How many players can play on a Stadia game?
The number is dependent on the game you're playing. Stadia will support full multiplayer titles, as well as couch based co-op and single player titles."

That's a Quote from Stadia Help. That's the most I was able to find about couch-based co-op. That's why we need input from people who actually played the games like @Stoked4Good offered here.

X - I was just messing, of course.  We all have the right to be wrong here and there, hehe.  And, I agree, this guest approach is bs.   They're probably still working on a solution, and hopefully they do soon!  Stream Connect is not the only approach to multiplayer gaming.  Awesome as it be, SC, it's MIA w B3.  Why!?   : (

Thanks everyone for the responses, particularly Stoked4Good as I eventually worked the same solution out. Unbelievably you have to activate the local co-op via the summoning stone even though it suggests otherwise in one of the menu settings (with a greyed-out co-op selection.... which unfortunately doesn't do anything but mislead the user).

I'll give Ghost Recon a shot aswell as I love the local co-ops.
