How to add second controller to stadia for multiplayer?

Jump to Best Response
I got that samurai game but my second controller, razer raiju is detected by stadia app, but I can't do anything to add it or use it. Also the stadia controller is connected and works fine, but it is not detected by the stadia app which is strange.

@Greenhill Were you trying to play through the phone app? I tried pairing two Xbox One controllers to be used on Windows PC and it was working just fine.

Stadia Guides are not employed by Google. Opinions are my own.

Perhaps, try this...

  • Begin by adding the controller to the Stadia App (on your phone)
  • Start Samurai Showdown.
  • Then, go to the character selection.
I am not in the game right now, but I remember there was a seperate code for joining a second controller.
  • Add the controller
  • Finally, exit the game and switch to the other game.

I think that should do it. Mind you, this is all a theory. My second controller does not arrive until next week or so.
Good luck,
Leko...

Ok so chromecast cannot pair with bluetooth or even usb controllers?

We need two stadia controllers I assume?

Ah well. All the requirements are too confusing for me. I just give up trying to understand for now.

Just a quick update. I did get my second controller, and it is similar to how I suspected.

1) Boot up a chromecast

2) Open Stadia on your phone

3)Pair your controller by holding the Stadia button and doing the code

4)Open a game that allows 2 player and enter that mode.

I should add that Google is opaque about which games have local multiplayer. There is a line in the game details in the store, but it is not consistent. This is a place where the lack of games has me question the purchase (of a second controller, Stadia is amazing, and the perfect gaming system for me).

Thanks, I thought other controllers were also supported by the chromecast.
