The forum software here can be rather frustrating sometimes. I'm in a few discourse run communities such as the FreeCodeCamp forums, and the software is very user friendly.
Perhaps the software here could be changed to discourse? Check it out and see for yourself how amazing it is. https://www.discourse.org/
Here's a demo to see it in action https://try.discourse.org/
And here's the FCC one that's very active. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.freecodecamp.org/forum&ved=2ahUKEwi...
@Deleted User : I have no preferences when it comes to a message board, so long as it supports RSS feeds then I'm fine.
I don't know what policies Google have in place for a particular forum software, if they were to change from one to another it is always easier doing it sooner than later. But by the same token to just switch forum software does have business costs associated with it as well as time and effort.
Probably not going to happen IMHO.
To me it doesn't matter much what the forum platform software is. The bigger problem is whether there's regular moderation and involvement from the people tasked with running the forum. There's not a lot of that here at all.
But, this is just my guess, I think this forum platform is temporary. I think at some point the "Community" will be developed directly into the app, not just as a link that takes you out to a web page.
I say I "think" but what I really mean is I hope. The entire Stadia buildup was about connecting people and building up a special gaming and media community. If that's the case, I am hoping they have a plan to integrate the Community forum in a way that it's accessible directly within the app, whether on phone, PC or even Chromecast.
Stadia sold a big picture of providing a platform where the entire world could be entertained... together. If they really are going to go after that, having the Community forum as a separate, standalone entity doesn't make sense.
Like I said, it's just a guess. I'm not a developer, social media wizard, marketer or any of that. But if I was, that's the kind of team I'd be trying to build to handle the community aspect of Stadia.
@Mad_Dog_Bravo Yeah that's true I suppose. It's not very likely but a man can dream I guess. Things are just so klanky here right now.
@Xevioso Oh my I didn't even think about it being incorporated into the app. That would be amazing. I agree with everything you said. The ultimate vision is to connect people. I hope they deliver on that aspect.
