Just wondering what everyone’s preference is to play their Stadia titles? There are a ton of options how to play their Stadia games. Whether it’s on Chromecast Ultra, Web Browser, Mobile, etc.
I love your question @BigPete7978!
My favorite way is using Chrome on my computer with a close second on mobile. Third is using Google TV
I currently have a Chromecast Ultra. Is the Google TV that much different?
My preferred method is my Chromecast with Google TV. Oh, to answer your question @BigPete7978 the Stadia interface is much smoother, scrolls faster, barely any time to load in game thumbnails. Game performance is identical for me. Second would be Chrome on my laptop. Third would be my iPhone with the Backbone. Fourth is my Note10+ with the Claw grip. Hopefully in December or January I'll be able to add Steam Deck to this list of choices. ![]()
Does the Google TV also support 4K just like the CCU?
Yes, it does. I hear that HDR is better on the Google TV too, but I don't have an HDR TV so I'm not sure.
Google TV is better than the CCU in every way - at least in my opinion.
I like to play however I can, whenever I can. But to answer your question: my favorite is my (4K) tv with the Stadia Controller (and CCU, since the GTV is not sold here...). Second would be on my phone (oneplus nord) with the Razer Kishi since it makes less noise. Third would be my iPad and Stadia Controller. Final would be PC/Chromebook (even with Humankind haha)
I play 95% of the time on my Dell XPS 13 docked to some nice 24" ASUS monitors. The other 5% of the time is on a TV with CCU but only when not at home since I don't have a TV here. Never tried it on my phone. Being able to play wherever is great but mostly not having to build a gaming computer is why I love it. No time for all that and I can just pick up and play with Stadia. Hopefully just more games and more cross play keep coming.
Hi BigPete7978,
Nice question: I guess my play times look like.
Best!
