Hi,
I am looking for some guidance.
I currently have a Google Chromecast with Google TV and PS4 - Scuf controller.
I have yet to figure out how to get a microphone to work. I would like to be able to use the in-game chat in Destiny but I can't get a mic to work anywhere while the device is on.
I have tried:
-plugging multiple headsets into the controller.
- powered USB hub, controller connected via usb cable with multiple headsets. controller worked but no audio was coming out.
-poweted USB hub, USB microphone, no audio from the mic out or no mic input volume.
I'm at a loss and I'm currently at the point of thinking that do I need to buy a Stadia controller to use a microphone? If doing so is my only option, can I have multiple controllers connected? I ask because I would still prefer to use my scuf PS4 controller and just leave the stadia one on the desk to have my headset connected.
Thank you
@AdoRoss I just tried it with my dualshock 4 and Chromecast Ultra. Not exactly the same setup but I guess it's close enough. I also can't get it to work. My guess is that since the PS4 or Xbox controller functionality for playing on TV was added at a later time, there might be some missing functionalities since Bungie didn't incorporate it to the game from the beginning.
Can I assume that you were able to do in game voice using Stadia controller?
I can verify that it does work with a Stadia controller. Sorry to hear that it doesn't appear to support your current set up though @AdoRoss
Hey @AdoRoss - Sorry to hear about that. I have the same equipment at my work and will be happy to test it out for you when I return Monday (unless someone else figures it out before I do).
I appreciate that
@AdoRoss So I have to be honest I never use the in game voice in Destiny 2 because I've found the quality isn't that great. I'm just curious how you're planning to use it? Are you planning to use it only with other Stadia users that you already know? From my experience, almost nobody use in game voice while playing match making activities so most likely you won't get any reply talking to randoms, and if you're doing LFG with players from other platforms (PC and consoles), most likely they'll using Discord to communicate.
Again, apologize if I'm not really answering the question, but trying to see other alternatives you can try on. I found that Discord is a great universal tool to do voice chat in Destiny 2
Thanks for asking and no need to apologize. I come from PC gaming so I know exactly what you are saying.
The intention is to have my game audio and chat coming through one source, thus limiting background noise for those I am playing with.
I have two close friends on PS and if we could use the in-game chat I would cut down the anything else.
I really don't want the game going through speakers and the chat via earbuds. One source for everything going through the headphones would be ideal.
Hope that helps

I appreciate that you took the time to troubleshoot this. I currently do not own a stadia controller, I was trying to work with stuff that I already have.

All of the best
@AdoRoss Ah ok. From your original post, I thought you said that you had the Stadia controller connected to your desk. I guess I must have misunderstood.
