Stadia could have the possibility to rent games
It would be for games where the developer wanted to rent these games !!! this has to be discussed with developers and publishers
and have the option of renting games that the developer wants you to rent!
I'm not renting no game.
So uh.. Ubisoft Plus? It's already implemented. Or like, rent any game on Stadia for <price>/day? I'm not sure how that'd work out. There's always the option to buy games you're curious about and refund within 2 hours playtime or 14 days since purchase.
You are currently renting it when you pay 120 € for a cloud gaming license.
PRO games are also a rental, EA Play, Game Pass, PSNow, Ubisoft+ are a rental.
Stadia games are from Stadia even if you buy them, that's the main fear if Stadia shuts down, we all know this.
To rent you still have to port them to Stadia and I honestly think that some Ubisoft games are being delivered by Ubisoft using Stadia technology and that is probably what the platform is targeting now..
The only way today to be a complete owner of a game is to buy a physical version from PC or GOG.
Steam, Epic, Activision, Origin use their launchers, Humble bundle and others use keys, and console games like playstation xbox and nintendo still need their dedicated hardware.
