I have 200MPS virgin media, SuperHub2a switched to modem mode as I have 2 Google wifi routers creating a mesh (series 1’s not nest).
connectivity is great when playing via the Chromecast (wireless) but when I use the Stadia controller and a Safari browser on the iPad after 5-10 mins, the Google wifi reboots. The light goes off, then comes back on but flashes quickly as it’s rebooting then establishes full connection again.
it’s only ever when I play Stadia in this way.
generally we don’t use a load of bandwidth for other things and the sky box is hardwired into the Google router.
I’ve tried setting the DNS to manual (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) but the router won’t save the settings
I’ve also tried turning the VM hub back to router mode, then turned off the firewall settings then turned back to modem mode.
Any suggestions?
Hi @Steved ,
When the Google Wifi reboots, is that just one node or do they both restart?
Aside from these apparent crashes, have you tried (cleanly) restarting your Google Wifi network by using the Restart network option in the Google Home / Google Wifi app?
Does it make a difference whether your controller and iPad are connected to the primary Google Wifi node (the one wired to your modem) or the mesh point? You might be able to force which node the devices connect to by powering off the devices, moving to be closer to one node or the other, and then powering the devices back on.
