I have a decent internet speed, around 220 download and yet every few minutes I get freezing lag that last a few second. It’s cyclical and when it comes around it’s hard not to die in games like Destiny. Other than that it runs great. I am running it on balanced setting with HDR off. Any suggestions on how to fix the problem?
If on Ethernet that speed should run anything if on WiFi have the router in the same room or very close with not many obstructions, 5g has speed but range is shocking.
Same here... Worked for weeks perfect. Now (since a week) every few minutes 2-3 secs freezing (Destiny 2).
50k Download / LAN
You are not the single one. I have problems in Destiny 2 too
This sounds like an issue for Googles professional trouble shooting team.
A few quick questions though.
Does this happen on all games?
When pressing the Stadia button does your internet always show as excellent?
Are the pauses the same distance apart? Put a watch next to you, if they are every five/ten/fifteen mins like clockwork then that could be something else taking the bandwidth like an antivirus software or a service trying to update.
Is your SSID split on your router? 2.4 and 5ghz?
Are other people /devices online? Or just Stadia? If more than one, try toggling them on and off and seeing what happens with each one individually.
Have you contacted your ISP to check connection and see if they can run a test?
I play only Destiny 2.
No WIFI. LAN 1GB. DSL 50 MB.
Looking at traffic of router: 20%-30% used bandwith - also during the freeze. Streaming Netflix, Amazon Prime.. no problem.
The problem is since the last week - before all was fine.
I having issues with my ISP when using streams and Stadia at the same time.
Even on LAN with a 250 MB internet connection.
My ISP is looking into it and it looks like it drops some pings when using 2 or more streaming services.
Maybe you can check it out if it helps if people don't use any other streaming service.
It may be worth checking your modems error logs
The error log is empty (only one disconnect/reconnect per day with new ip address assign).
I've tested the game play at different day times. The freezing appears randomly (most after 2-3 min).
As i know a stadia instance (one player/user) runs on a local machine at google. Maybe some of these machines do not work as expected.
Happy news: Now it works fine. I've nothing changed...
Maybe my ISP had some problems or there was a stadia problem solved by google.
I was having the same problem. For me, the solution was to disable WMM in my router settings. To tell if you're having the same problem, open a command prompt and type in ping google.com and then start your game. When the game freezes, switch over to your command prompt—it should be saying that it can't resolve.
