Freezing Life is strange remastered before the storm

This game keeps freezing at every save point. Game plays fine up until that point and then I get an error message saying I’ve lost internet connection. When I check the connection it always says excellent and I have 5g. I just finished the previous life is strange game with no issue. No other games freeze due to bad connection. It just feels like a glitch because it always freezes at the same spots in the game. Anyone else? What do I do?

Hi @Luxx

I think the best thing you can do is let Square Enix know about your issues.

Please know there option within Stadia to save 30 seconds clips, maybe this can help Square Enix support to fix this issue. :smiling_face_with_smiling_eyes:

For me the game freezes every 15 seconds or so: is this the issue you are experiencing?

I'm having this exact same issue. I hope it's fixed soon.

I get this along with an in-game network disconnected notification. That really seems like a Stadia issue rather than something the developer has to deal with.

Hey folks,

It's been a bit since this thread has been updated, just wanted to check in here to see anyone was still experiencing this issue.

Best,

James

I’m still experiencing this issue. It’s pretty bad lately and it’s only this game

Hey @Wheresthedishso,

Thanks for letting us know. So just to confirm, all of your other games on Stadia seem to be working flawlessly correct? If this is indeed the case, then the best next step is to reach out to the developer. Unfortunately when single games have issues, more often than not it is a bug on their side and there is nothing we can do to help. In the end, let us know if you are able to get ahold of them and/or you need anything else.

Thank you,

James

After playing a ton of other games and hopping back to this, it's still happening a lot. It eventually unfreezes, but can take an upwards of 5 minutes or more.

I reached out to Square Enix and they said to reach out to you all. They said they do not support games on Stadia. This is sad to hear that both sides are dumping the blame on each other. How can you all have games on your platform that the devs want offer support for?

Hi @xLockOnx

That is a strange responds?
Hope the support engineer is aware of Stadia en the games Square Enix has on it. :face_without_mouth:

Somehow that doesn't surprise me at all. I'm just glad I finally finished the game. LIS: True Colors is really good so far.

Hello James. Maybe time to follow up?

Does anybody know if anything was or is being done to solve the issue. The game has many problems for me. It slows down to an almost frame by frame when in the dorms, crashes in determined scenes, and simply doesn't run well. It is the only game on Stadia that ever gave me problems.

@brunophgomes Based from the responses so far, it sounds like this is something that the dev of the game needs to fix. If you haven't it's always a good idea to send feedback to the dev to let them know about the issue, and hopefully it will be fixed in future patches.

I'm currently playing the 1st Remaster (because my buddy insisted), and it seems like the UNPLAYABLE framerate issues only happen when you're in a room that has even just a single mirror... for a game that is all about telling a choice-based narrative, your biggest enemy IS.... a mirror... and it seems like if you can manage to get past a part that has a mirror (like the dorm rooms), the game with constantly stutter as if trying to buffer.... it happens until you just reboot the game, at which runs just fine from there (albeit, until you run into a room with a mirror lol)... I actually don't wanna keep playing because of it, but my friend INSISTS the story is worth the play (simce he played the original years ago)

Very strange. I've actually never encountered that issue at all.

I got exactly the same issue. First time in the dorm room it was stuttering like hell. But somehow I got through and made it outside. Then the framerate was fine again. But when I had to enter again the game just throw me out completely out. Like this its not playable for me…

Hi,

today i've started to play Life is Strange Remastered, but the game in unplayable at the moment, like described by other people if you go in a room with a mirror (bathroom or bedroom) the game movement are really slow, the game become unplayable, you can't interact with the enviroment.

The game is full of bugs that affect seriously the final experience.

In my opinion, until they doesn't fix the gaming bugs, the people that spents money for this game should ask for a rembursement.

For now i've suspended the game, any news about a patch?
