Boys Stadia Team has just released the two Destiny 2 DLCs
Forsaken
Shadowkeep
And Destiny 2 New Light so they can continue in Destiny for free.
Enjoy the great game of Bungie.
Praise the Lord! This will help bring a lot of new players into Destiny 2 when stadia base launches.
I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say that literally no one saw this coming (that Stadia would provide free to play games with no strings attached). It also bodes well for the platform because this makes it likely that games like Fortnite and Warframe will be coming and can draw more users to Stadia who may be hesitant to purchase games at retail prices at first.
The only shame is that we had to wait until the 11th hour to find this out because neither Stadia nor Bungie could be bothered to say anything about it, so unfortunately a lack of communication on this platform is still an issue.
@MyFS pretty sure I read you need to purchase at least one of the expansions to play Destiny new light on base, think I'd rather keep my sub going tbh so I have all content and will buy season passes.
Hopefully now people can see there is a future here without subbing it gets more destiny 2 players.

Link there, will cost you £50 for what we got now or you can just buy one of the expansions at £25 for access.
@ARGAH Thank you! I hadn't seen that. All of this confusion could have been avoided if Team Stadia had just communicated this to their community.
It's hard to know if the article is even correct, like do Google go to these sites and give them the information instead of telling us here, clarification would be nice.
What Isn't it Free ??
I mean Destiny 2 is found individually in the Store.
Do not cancel my sub so I cannot see the information. I feel the confusion.
They can close the thread. This is really bad to know ...
Google this is bad every good thing you do, then bury it with something like this.
Anyway, thanks @ARGAH
@Whito It was still helpful that you started this thread, because without it I wouldn't have known about these developments. It's not your fault that Google didn't communicate basic, needed information to its community. So thank you, what you did was still helpful.
Even though you have to buy an expansion, I think this still bodes well for Destiny 2's growth, because $24.99 is a pretty low barrier for entry.
Yeah threads fine @Whito it is technically free you just gotta buy DLC which is probably the only way they can really do, they can't really let people take up space on servers which cost a lot for absolutely free.
@MyFS I am glad to have been able to help, really Destiny and Stadia need New Light I love Stadia in many things but I am very critical of others.
Destiny 2 is a great game ... I enjoyed it since 2017 ...
I abandoned it because in Steam I had a ping too high 180 ms in Battlenet got 40 ms so competing in the Crucible made me somewhat tedious.
I really expected something positive for the Stadia community.
Thank you @ARGAH
I really do not like to give false or confusingly manipulative information, so I would prefer that the thread be closed or removed.
I understand the cost of the server, but we don't only have Stadia Base, you can only access Stadia with code.
For me it would have been economically positive to give New Light for free, the game has its own currency that Google earns a % and would keep users on the platform that would eventually use the Stadia store. But well, Google knows which way to go.
I suppose
I can't seem to find new light available for free. Can you advise on how to get it? i'm just a stadia base member.
Hi there. In order to gain access to that content, you must be a Stadia Pro subscriber. Hope that clears things up! Let me know if you need more help.
