Founders Edition Badge

Hi Stadia-Team,

I preordered my Founders Edition on 22nd August 2019 and was not able to enjoy Stadia, because I had a really bad internet connection. So I dont wanted to waste my founders bonus at this time. Last month I moved in my new apartment and tried Stadia with the Pro-Trail and it worked really good and i tried to activate my founders bonus/account + badge and username without numbers. I bought Cyberpunk 2077 and got the games from the pro subscription and wont lose them, in case I have to delete my account before.

 

The code is expired, but not used. So my question is:

Is it possible to delete my numbers in the username and get my founders badge? I can proof my order#, order date, serials and the unused code.

Just the unique username and the badge are important for me. I have no intresst in the 3 pro months, because I will use the pro subscription anyway.

Finally I've been a founder and preordered the Founders Edition. 

I hope someone of the admins can help me with this. I contacted the stadia support on facebook already, got a reference id and filled a form, but got no answer until today :confused_face: 

I saw in a post here in the forum, that it is possible to get the the badge deleted and added numbers in case of a founders edition return. So in theory it should be possible to add the badge and delete the numbers? My nickname exist only one time on stadia.

I found the email from when I got my Founder invite code and it mentioned that the code had to be redeemed within a year of receipt. 

I'm sorry to hear that the email expired. Hopefully support will be able to help you with this. Let us know how it turns out.

Thankfully you are still able play games on Stadia.

Hi @Fintjii,

How long has it been since you submitted the support request through Facebook? It might take a couple of days to hear back. 

If it's been more than a few days, you might try contacting support again, but this time directly in chat rather than through Facebook:

I honestly don't know if they will be able to do anything to override the system, but they'd have a much better chance of doing that than any of the members of this community.

Today its day three. i hope i'll get an answer the next days :confused_face: I am in fear that i have to delete my account, my bought game and the pro games :confounded_face: And i want to buy some new games (Resident Evil Village with the Premiere Edition Bonus too), but wont buy them until i know whats going on :grinning_face_with_sweat:

Totally understandable, @Fintjii.

I would recommend as well what @codesplice mentioned to you, to try to contact their support via chat. That way you can also check in with them what's happening on your ticket and at least get an update on it.

Yes that's true.
But I can't explain myself why the code is limited in time. I hope the support can help me. I'm not the only one with this problem. And at some point all founders are registered and then the problem should no longer occur. I am a little disappointed that there was probably not really thought about it beforehand. Finally it is just a little change on my username and I think that it can’t be so difficult to change :confused_face:

I‘m hoping :raising_hands: I would be so happy if it works. So that pre-ordering the founders edition was worth it. I just want to enjoy the full founder experience :slightly_smiling_face:

I got an answer, that they are working on my case. So i think there must be a chance to get this working. Otherwise they would text me directly that they can't help me with this I think. At least they have all my information of my founders bundle (order date, order number, serials and code). So we'll see.

I‘am really disappointed:/ really really disappointed… 

Google just answered and they don’t do it.. 

Why it is not possible to give me my founder badge? I don’t understand why it is possible to delete it but not to give it.. 

I paid for it and supported from the beginning…

@Fintjii I think we all share in your disappointment. The badge is a cool perk for sure.

Unfortunately the terms of the Founders promotion did indicate that the code had to be redeemed within one year. I'm not really surprised that the Stadia team wasn't able to make an exception for you.

On the bright side, though, you can now jump into enjoying some more games without having to worry about switching accounts. Game on!

@Fintjii Unfortunately terms exist for a reason. I understand it's frustrating but Stadia won't be the only place you'll find that don't make exceptions to their terms. This is a pretty much a standard everywhere money is involved.

It's just disappointing.. Now I am forced to buy an existing, activated founder account on the internet, change the name so that I can get my founder account.

i dont understand why the code expires. i have no clue why... I think that's something that goolge doesn't really want. and that although I am a founder: ///

@Fintjii I would advise you against on purchasing someone else's founders account. Not only it's against the terms of conditions (account selling is prohibited), it will also exposes you to potential scams and malicious attacks. There have been many cases in the past (not specific to Stadia) where the seller basically got the account back after being sold through account recovery.

Again, I can't stress this enough, please don't purchase someone else's Stadia account just to get the founders badge.

Just hoping that there will be a solution for this. The badge/unique name is the only thing that makes the difference from pre ordering founders to standard buying customers. 

The controller could everybody buy on eBay or something else..

It is a service/product I paid for and I didn’t get the full promised service.

If its been as a text, that I’ve could read before pre-ordering it.. That if I pre-order it, I have one year after receiving the invite mail, I have to activate my full service I‘ve paid for already I could understand this.

But after I bought it.. there’s suddenly a deadline for getting the full service…. That feels so wrong :confused_face:

That’s the point that makes me very angry and disappointed.

  • So finally Stadia gave me a vaild code. I have to use this on registration for a new stadia account with a new google mail. 

So now the question is, wich site is having the registration, where I can redeem it while I register it? 

the code is vaild! When I try to redeem the code on my actual stadia account it doesn’t says it expired anymore. But I have to use it on/while registration a new one.

Is there a land that’s new to stadia where the registration the function is available?

@Fintjii I would consider yourself extremely lucky that they gave you a founders code. The code is only able to be used upon account registration. You can't use it on an existing account.

Hey @Fintjii,

nice to see you got a code here from the support, that's great! :slightly_smiling_face:

You can try to redeem it the following way on an existing account:

To redeem a code on your account:

  1. Sign into your account at stadia.com.
  2. In the top right, select your avatar > Stadia settings.
  3. On the left, select Redeem code.
  4. Enter your code into the text box and select Redeem.
  5. If the code is valid, a confirmation will appear.

If this doesn't work, it's indeed the case as @Deleted User mentioned that you can only redeem it when creating an account as part of the sign-up, but it's at least a try. Here's how you can do with the sign-up:

On stadia.com:

  1. On a computer using Google Chrome, go to stadia.google.com/setup.
  2. Select the Google Account you want to sign up with.
  3. Select Yes for any of the questions that appear > select Confirm.
  4. Select the text box > type your code into the box > select Next.
    • If the code is not valid, a message will appear with more information. You can still create your account if you don't have a valid code. Just select Back to return to the previous step and choose No for all of the questions.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to create your Stadia account.

On a mobile device:

  1. On your mobile device, open the latest version of the Stadia app.
  2. Sign in with the Google Account you want to use.
  3. Enter the invite code that was sent to you.
  4. Tap Next.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to create your Stadia account.

The founders bonus was what? like a free month of pro? I don't even remember anymore. Regardless, if it was that important to you then you probably should have read the TOS and just signed up for the account to get your badge. Also, let's be real, if you haven't been playing it for the last 2 years, are you really a founder? Do you really deserve the badge? Does it make any kind of difference when it comes to anything? No.

Yes I am a founder. Even if I haven't been able to play it for the last two years, I believed from the start that something big would grow out of stadia.

I pre-ordered stadia even though I knew that I couldn't use it directly. Because I wanted to support it.

And just because I have not been able to play it for the past two years because of my place of residence does the pre-order of the founders edition undone? :grinning_face_with_sweat: 

I bought it in 2019, because I wanted to support the platform from the beginning and at the moment before I clicked purchase there was no note that I have only one year and a few months to get what was promised to me.

And in the end the stadia team understood that too. And that I do appreciate so much :slightly_smiling_face:
